When looking for arm talent to build into your Perfect QB recruit it is nice to have an FBS commit among the athletes to choose from. Vance has the arm strength that we need. He is able to attack all three levels of the field. You see him put the ball on a rope to beat tight or closing windows. The arm strength opens up the entire field for his offense to attack and his OC to work with. We need an athlete who can unleash the fastball whenever needed and usually make it look natural. One of the best QBs in the group is Vance Holtz Vance Holtz 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB Arrowhead | 2025 State WI out of Arrowhead HS. Vance fits the mold of today’s QB. Good size at 6’2″ 200 lbs and the ability to win with his arm or his legs. The arm is the focal point, though. Vance has developed clean mechanics, feet that move with the eyes. He uses his whole body to generate power when he needs to get behind the ball to beat a closing window or push the ball down the field. Vance is able to drive the ball on deep out routes, and he has the touch to drop it in a bucket over his receiver’s shoulder right in stride. The junior is a poised passer with plenty of experience in big games. Holtz also has the mobility and elusiveness in the pocket to buy time, and when it is there we do see him keep it himself. The athleticism is there to hurt defenses. Check out the tape on the prototypical passer.

Having a field general like Vance is extremely valuable this time of year. The junior is already very experienced, both in overall games played and playing on the big stage. Vance protects the ball, can attack every level of the field with velocity and accuracy, and isn’t afraid to keep it himself. Holtz has plenty of weapons at his disposal. His threat with the ball in his hands will force teams to not just load up the box to battle this run game.

Rankings Jump: 24 SpotsrnThe 6’2″ 195 lbs sophomore made the jump to the #1 spot among QBs, and a place in the Top 10 following his dominant 2022 season. Vance checks off a lot of boxes you look for in high level QBs. His footwork is quick, consistent, and always stays connected to his eyes. Holtz is also has the athleticism to make quick maneuvers in the pocket to buy time, and can hurt the defense with his legs. Vance has developed a strong arm that attacks every inch of the field with velocity. Most importantly, Holtz has pinpoint accuracy, and makes great choices with the ball. He places it where his man has the best chance of coming down with it, and he doesn’t put it in risky spots. Further separating himself, Vance also is just as effective throwing on the run as he is from the pocket. No question about it, Vance is well on his way to becoming a D1 recruit.

Stats: 10/14, 219 Yards, 5 TDsrnThe 6’2″ 185 lbs sophomore QB is an impressive QB prospect. The underclassman already plays with the poise of a seasoned veteran. I was very impressed with his footwork. He gets through his drop quickly, always has his lower body connected to his upper, and is so light on his feet. That sharp footwork leads to other strong traits. Vance is already a decisive decision maker. What maximizes his decisions is that he can get the ball right where it needs to be, when it needs to be. Holtz has multiple plays with pinpoint location. He drops it in over a shoulder or zips it through a tight window. I’m very impressed with the sophomore, and an excited to watch him through the playoffs and then develop over the next few years. He is an impressive prospect.
