has been a force in the running game this season for the Redskins which has seen tremendous success.
They’ve rushed for over 2,100 yards and 27 touchdowns this season through seven games with McGrew being a pivotal part of their prolific rushing attack. He’s been effective in short-yardage passing situations as well, but McGrew has been dominant as a blocker this year. You can line him up in a variety of spots as a lead blocker and is capable of doing so attached to the line, as an H-back, and in space in the slot. McGrew gets consistent push in the running game and does a great job on screen passes as well as a blocker. He’s a physically imposing athlete who’s just going to keep getting bigger and stronger at the college level.

. He made his commitment to Marshall in June and is a versatile athlete for the position. While more known for his blocking ability to this point, McGrew showed evidence of developing into a quality pass-catcher as well last season and at our PRZ WV Combine this year. He’s a physically built athlete and an imposing blocker which aided the Redskins’ dynamic running game last season. McGrew can line up attached to the LOS or slide out to the slot and out wide to perform both duties of the position further showcasing his versatility.
Look for McGrew to be utilized more in the passing game this season and build on the success he had as a junior.

‘s game is his strong blocking ability, but it was good to see him come out and get some work as a pass catcher at the Combine. He thrives on the football field during a real game when there’s more contact allowed compared to a camp setting, but McGrew still has the ability and potential to be a threat in the passing game. He’s an athlete who has recently come into his own and has made great strides in his development over the past three years at the high school level whose best has yet to come. McGrew is a strong athlete who is a tough cover for defensive backs given his size.
He’s already received offers from Marshall and UVA-Wise who ranks inside of our 2025 Top 10 right now as a talented blocking tight end who showed he can be dangerous in the passing game too when given opportunities.

is currently slated to be the highest-ranked prospect regardless of class to be in attendance at the PRZ WV Combine. The 6’3 235 rising senior is ranked as the #1 TE in the 2025 class and a Top 10 player at this time. McGrew earned his first D1 offer from in-state Marshall back in November and should be in line for some more with strong camp performances over the summer and a solid senior season. The biggest question for him heading into the camp will be how he performs as a pass-catcher and how he tests in the combine drills. We know McGrew is an impressive blocker but his opportunities in the passing game were limited to 17 catches last season, so this will be a great opportunity for him to showcase that side of his game as well which we’re confident he’ll do. Watch for him in the 1-on-1s portion of the camp where he should be able to dominate, and McGrew can solidify himself as the #1 TE in the class with some strong testing numbers.

is someone we identified at the midpoint of the season and included in our Midseason Stock Risers series and now ranks inside the Top 10 as the #1 TE in the class. We said on Twitter that the 2025 TE class has D1 potential in it and sure enough, Marshall jumped on board with an early offer for McGrew. Hurricane got him involved in the passing game a bit catching 17 passes for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns but McGrew showed he was an unselfish player in the blocking game. The 6’3 225 junior could end up as a TE or H-Back at the next level depending on how he grows and develops in the future. McGrew put in the work last off-season to work himself into being a D1 prospect and increased his size and strength considerably which he’ll continue to do. He has the athleticism to not only be a factor in the passing game but also block in space and at the second level. McGrew is also a physical blocker at the line of scrimmage but can line up in the slot or out wide to block linebackers and defensive backs too. He’s one of the few 2025 prospects to have received a D1 offer at this point which puts him firmly in the Top 10 at this juncture.

. McGrew has the ideal size that you’re looking for in a high school tight end at 6’3 225 and has shown the willingness to be physical in the running game. Although they primarily use him as a blocker, McGrew has caught a few touchdowns and has enough athleticism to flare out in the passing game or line up in the slot. Hurricane also lines him up out wide at times to block in the screen game so he can block in open space as well and not just attached to the line. McGrew added a lot of size and strength in the off-season which has paid dividends this season in his game with still one more year of high school left after this season.
