Another Hurricane Redskin who had a stock-rising senior season was LB Joey Quijano Joey Quijano 5'10" | 205 lbs | LB Hurricane | 2025 State WV . We highlighted him as a first four weeks stock riser and he continued to finish the season strong with 66 tackles and 16 TFLs at middle linebacker. Quijano is a bit undersized length-wise but doesn’t let that affect his play on the field. He pursues the ball very well and gets downhill quickly with bad intent. Quijano has the athleticism to rush the passer from inside and can drop into coverage as well and make a play on the ball. He’s still an under-the-radar prospect with just one offer this season coming from UPike and WV State during the summer, but you can overlook Quijano’s size if you’re a D2 program.

Joey Quijano Joey Quijano 5'10" | 205 lbs | LB Hurricane | 2025 State WV is leading the Hurricane Redskins in tackles through the first four weeks and is having a very good start to his senior season.
The 2025 LB has totaled 41 tackles and 5 TFLs in four games this season and is the defensive leader for the Redskins. Quijano may not be quite as big as some of the other linebackers on this list, but he doesn’t let that affect his play on the field. He’s able to duck under traffic and get to the ball because of that and makes it tough for offensive linemen to get a clean block on him. Quijano has quick feet and pursuit of the ball but has the physicality to make plays between the tackles too at the line of scrimmage. Size may have him under-the-radar but his play is deserving of more D2 looks this season.

2025 LB Joey Quijano Joey Quijano 5'10" | 205 lbs | LB Hurricane | 2025 State WV led the Redskins in tackles as a junior in 2023 with 63 total including 5 for a loss and will return as a defensive leader in 2024. He’s caught the eye of colleges heading into his final year as WV State extended Quijano his first offer last month. Quijano was an All-MSAC performer last season and will be in contention for more post season accolades with a strong senior season. While a bit undersized at 5’10 205, Quijano is a physical downhill middle linebacker and plays the position how you’d want it to be played. He shoots gaps well and has willingness to be physical at the line of scrimmage. Quijano also has the speed and quickness to get to the backfield for a TFL or to harass the quarterback when blitizng.
Quijano should pick up more offers with a good senior season.
