Parker Edward’s is the backup for Gundy and showed promise. As a sophomore, he came out and looked impressive, leading his team to a touchdown his first drive on the field. Looking poised and not fazed by pressure, he threw one accurate pass after another. He was able to place the ball well for the receivers and was on the same page. There was a fairly small sample size, so there was limited action that we saw him play. With that limited action , I took away that he is someone that might be able to emerge next season as a legit starter and successfully lead this team. A stronger sample size will help get a better idea of this, as he has attempted 22 passes and completed 16 of those attempts this season. He has appeared in three games and has thrown 187 passing yards and two passing touchdowns over three games this season. The crazy thing is that he has the same quarterback rating as Gundy on the season. He has a lot of potential with possibly being a starter for two years, if he is named the starter next year.
