In the first half, the Pioneers allowed only 24 yards of offense to the Sandites, showing a stifling defense. They won the game 58-0, playing their backups almost the whole second half. This showed why they are the top team in 6A-2.
Gage Gundy Gage Gundy 6’3″ | 200 lbs | QB Stillwater | 2023 State OK came out firing in this game, showing why he is the #29 ranked player and #4 ranked quarterback in the state. The Stillwater offense has been dominant this season, averaging over 52 points per game over six games. Gundy is the engine of this team and is the key factor of why they are performing at such a high level. He was 21-31 passing tonight, with multiple incompletions not being his fault. The mechanics of his release is a thing of beauty, so it is no surprise that he is so accurate. Multiple times his wide receiver or teammate would slow down before getting to the ball, when it would have been easily catchable. These 21 completions helped accumulate 309 passing yards. He ended the game with five total touchdowns, getting it done through the air and occasionally on the ground. This is with him only playing two series in the second half.
Heston Thompson Heston Thompson 5’11” | 175 lbs | WR Stillwater | 2024 State OK put on a clinic in the first half tonight, lighting up the scoreboard with 134 yards and four touchdowns in the half. He displayed great speed and effective route running. Him and Gundy had a great connection out there and was two steps ahead of the defense every second he was out there. He is ranked as the #6 receiver and #48 player in the 2024 class, but he looked like he could be mistaken for the best wide receiver in the class with his performance tonight. It was a spectacular performance, as most players dream of doing that in a game, much less a half.
Noah Roberts Noah Roberts 5’7″ | 155 lbs | RB Stillwater | 2023 State OK was impressive in Stillwater’s dominant win. He is a 5’8 running back that played bigger than his size. He would catch balls on the line of scrimmage and beat the defender, broke off with big carries- showing elusiveness as he steered his way through traffic, or he would show a quick first step by beating his defender off of the line of scrimmage to come up with a big catch. He looked like someone that can be a reliable pass game threat and an elusive back. He was able to score on a pair of 1-yard runs and accumulated 12 carries for 93 yards. Currently, he is ranked as the #16 running back in the state out of the 2023 class and is ranked as the #106 player in the state. He might be someone that is going under the radar and should have an eye kept on him moving forward.

JaKobe Sanders JaKobe Sanders 6’3″ | 285 lbs | OL Stillwater | 2023 State OK has been a dominant force this whole season on the offensive line for Stillwater. He opened everything up for the Pioneer’s offense, creating space at will. He displays good size and strength, which contributes to his success. On top of that, he showed good awareness to know where the defenders were coming from and the moves that they were attempting to use. Currently, he is the #1 offensive linemen in the state and the #5 overall prospect in the state of Oklahoma.

Parker Edward’s is the backup for Gundy and showed promise. As a sophomore, he came out and looked impressive, leading his team to a touchdown his first drive on the field. Looking poised and not fazed by pressure, he threw one accurate pass after another. He was able to place the ball well for the receivers and was on the same page. There was a fairly small sample size, so there was limited action that we saw him play. With that limited action , I took away that he is someone that might be able to emerge next season as a legit starter and successfully lead this team. A stronger sample size will help get a better idea of this, as he has attempted 22 passes and completed 16 of those attempts this season. He has appeared in three games and has thrown 187 passing yards and two passing touchdowns over three games this season. The crazy thing is that he has the same quarterback rating as Gundy on the season. He has a lot of potential with possibly being a starter for two years, if he is named the starter next year.
