Brown carried the ball 23 times for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns in the victory. He’ll make his name known this season as one of the top running backs in the state, as he’s poised to have a true breakout year. If Brown continues this level of play the entire season, look for him to be in the mix for the Curt Warner Award as the state’s top running back.

2026 DB Malcolm Brown Malcolm Brown 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB/DB South Charleston | 2026 State WV was a bright spot during a rough season for South Charleston earning 2nd Team All-MSAC honors. Brown totaled 53 tackles and 2 interceptions during his junior season along with 1,000 all-purpose yards. He’s a versatile athlete who can line up in a variety of spots on both sides of the ball but appears to have the highest ceiling at safety. Brown is a physical player who will come downhill and lay the boom and has the athleticism to cover ground quickly. Box safety feels like his best role as a talented run-stopper who can rush the passer as well.
