Injuries slowed down 2026 Nitro LB Lyric Berger Lyric Berger 6'1" | 190 lbs | LB South Charleston | 2026 WV during his junior season but his primed for a bigger role as a senior for the Wildcats who have one of the top linebacker units in the state heading into the 2025 season. Even though he never fully got going this season, we’re betting on Berger having his breakout season as a senior and further showing what he’s capable of. Berger looked quick and physical on film and made a big leap from his sophomore to junior year. He still hasn’t reached his potential as a prospect, and we’re eager to see him at his best next season.

Former South Charleston RB/LB Lyric Berger Lyric Berger 6'1" | 190 lbs | LB South Charleston | 2026 WV will be another new face to the Nitro program this season who could be utilized in a few different ways. He’s been mostly a running back until now but has real linebacker potential as well if he develops at that spot. We got to see Berger at the PRZ WV Combine earlier this year where he impressed with his athletic build that can be molded into a notable prospect in the future. He could be the thunder to Eli Littlehohn’s lightening as they look for more depth at the running back position this season with Littlejohn seeing most of the production a year ago.

Berger is a name to tuck away and keep tabs on over the next two seasons as someone who could blossom in his new program in time.

Lyric Berger Lyric Berger 6'1" | 190 lbs | LB South Charleston | 2026 WV is a physically impressive athlete who is ahead of most sophomores in that department and will be a welcomed addition to the Nitro program next season coming over from South Charleston. He’s someone who performs better on the football field where he can display his physicality better compared to a camp setting, but was still able to flash during the Combine. Berger can continue to make strides with his athleticism and improve his testing numbers, but there is a lot to work with there and mold into a quality prospect over the next two years.

We expect him to make a big jump in his development this season and next in the Nitro program as their power back on offense and possibly linebacker reps on defense.

Lyric Berger Lyric Berger 6'1" | 190 lbs | LB South Charleston | 2026 WV will be making the move from South Charleston to Nitro for the next two years and could end up as a RB or LB in our rankings but debuts as an ATH for now. The 6’1 190 rising junior had primarily running back film from last season but is an athlete we could see developing into a LB prospect in time. Berger saw quality playing time on a struggling South Charleston team last season and flashed at times for the Black Eagles which makes you believe he can develop into a very good player for Nitro in the future. He has great early size and combines that with quality speed and quickness for a young player his size. While Berger is still a very raw prospect, we expect him to make big strides in the Nitro program each of the next two seasons and could be a solid player for them as soon as next season. We’ll get a better idea of his talent and ceiling over the next two years but are betting on him to take the next steps in his game and rank him as a Top 125 player and the #10 ATH at this juncture.
