Mustang’s 2023 class was pretty special with playmakers everywhere on both sides of the ball. Wide receiver

was one of the best 1-2 punches in 6A-1 over the last few seasons. Johnson is a top five overall prospect but is listed at defensive back. Bass, who’s signed with Air Force, has been a playmaker for the Bronco offense and even helping out in special teams as well. The one thing that we really like about Bass is the physicality that he brings to the field. He’s not just a flashy player that only impacts the game when he has the ball in his hands.

. The Mustang standout committed to Air Force over the summer and Air Force is getting an absolute steal. Bass is one of the more dynamic slot receivers in the state. We’ve watched him quite a bit over the last nine months and he’s impressed us every time he steps on the field. There’s no other way to describe it, he’s always open. Bass routinely finds a way to get open time after time. His junior year was cut short due to an injury but once he was cleared earlier this year, he came back and started making up for lost time immediately. Also a basketball standout, Bass is one of the better two-sport players in the state’s 2023 class and he’s focused on helping Mustang make another run in the playoffs.

. Bass finished with three catches on the night and one of them was incredibly impressive. On one of his three catches, Bass absolutely climbed the ladder and made a catch that many other wide receivers would have seen get overthrown. Bass got up and brought down the pass with two hands and it was really impressive to watch. Bass has been one of our favorite receivers to watch in person in the state’s 2023 class and he continued to show why on Thursday night. We really like what Mustang does with Bass and Johnson and lining them up on the same side. But with Johnson coming up hurt, Bass might have a bigger role in the offense.

is another name that people need to know moving forward if they don’t already. Bass dealt with injuries during his junior season and was somewhat limited on the field because of it. However, since February and March, Bass has been outstanding in various 7v7 tournaments and then so far this season for the Broncos. With Johnson and Bass at the wide receiver positions, the Mustang offense has the chance to be one of the best in the state. Last week, Union was able to hurt Owasso with the passing game and used multiple receivers to do it. Mustang will look to copy that formula this week and they have the weapons to do so. Bass is just one that can light up the Owasso defense.
