The latest and final 2023 rankings on Prep Redzone Oklahoma were released on Monday with the Top 250 for the state’s 2023 class. Throughout the week, we’ll be breaking down prospects throughout the rankings. From stock risers and newcomers to breakdowns by positions, it will be a busy week! So keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the week for more on the 2023 class. In this post, we’re putting a spotlight on ten of the best wide receivers and tight ends in the state’s 2023 class. Now, this isn’t the complete top ten as Enid wide receiver Tykie Andrews Tykie Andrews 6'0" | WR Enid | 2023 State OK was featured earlier this week in our Stock Risers article. But these ten are the best of the best, including three in the top six overall rankings.
Ever since his breakout season as a sophomore, Bixby tight end Luke Hasz Luke Hasz 6’4″ | TE Bixby | 2023 State OK was considered one of the top overall prospects in the state’s 2023 class. It was clear when you watched Hasz, either on tape or in person, that he had the makings of a very special and rare talent. Fast forward to his senior season and he became an All American and one of the top overall prospects in the country, not just in Oklahoma. Hasz is a great pass-catching tight end but one of the best parts of his game over the last two seasons was his ability and more importantly his willingness to block. He was an absolute menace downfield and he should be a star at the next level with Arkansas.
Booker T Washington speedster Micah Tease Micah Tease 6’1″ | WR Booker T Washington | 2023 State OK has been one of the top overall prospects in the state’s 2023 class from the very beginning. Now, it was around two years ago that Tease’s recruitment started to blow up and the question of which position he would play started coming up. Some schools liked him as a defensive back but we’ve always maintained that he’s a game changer on the offensive side of the ball at wide receiver. Tease originally committed to Arkansas and then would switch his commitment to Texas A&M and signed with the Aggies. Tease could very well end up on the defensive side of the ball but we’ll keep him at wide receiver in this final update.
Owasso wide receiver Cole Adams Cole Adams 6’0″ | WR Owasso | 2023 State OK is another wide receiver that has been an absolute star in Oklahoma since his sophomore season. We’ve mentioned this before but in his very first game as a sophomore, Adams was so dynamic on the offensive side of the ball that he seemed destined to be one of the top prospects in the state. Then it was around this time last year that Adams had a 72-hour stretch where he was offered by Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M, making him a truly national prospect. Unfortunately, Adams was only able to play half of one game as a senior. He got hurt in the season opener against Bixby and would have season-ending surgery.
When you’re talking about the state’s 2023 class at wide receiver, Cushing standout Camden Crooks Camden Crooks 6’0″ | 190 lbs | WR Cushing | 2023 State OK was without a doubt the most productive player over the last four years. Crooks got on the field as a freshman and then became a three-time finalist for our Player Of The Year award. Crooks was dominant on the field every single year and he’s not just a small school prospect that torched inferior competition. He did it week after week at a high level and it didn’t matter who they came up against. One of the more underrated parts of Crooks’ game is his strength. You look at the measurables and assume he’s a prototypical slot receiver but he’s incredibly strong and plays that way.

Owasso wide receiver Anthony Hills Anthony Hills 6’2″ | WR Owasso | 2023 State OK was on our list for players to have a breakout season during the 2022 year. Granted, we thought that Hills would break out with Cole Adams Cole Adams 6’0″ | WR Owasso | 2023 State OK lining up at wide receiver as well, which would open things up for Hills in the passing game. With Adams suffering a season-ending injury in the first game of the season, Hills became the go-to weapon in the Owasso passing attack. Hills would end up being the top playmaker in the Owasso offense, not just in the passing game. Hills definitely enjoyed a breakout season and quickly became one of the top wide receiver prospects in this class. And he’s just scratching the surface on what he can be as a prospect.
Noble wide receiver Brandon Harper Brandon Harper 5’10” | 165 lbs | WR Noble | 2023 State OK is betting on himself as a preferred walk on at OU. And it seems like a pretty good bet after watching some of his production over the last few seasons. His senior season in particular was especially spectacular as Harper was one of the best wide receivers in the state when it came to receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. He was the other end of the dynamic QB-WR duo with quarterback Colin Fisher Colin Fisher 6’3″ | 200 lbs | QB Noble | 2023 State OK . Harper was at his best after the catch as he routinely made a short pass into a long play and Harper would eventually earn All State honors for his senior season. It won’t surprise us if Harper earns a scholarship sooner rather than later.

Mustang’s 2023 class was pretty special with playmakers everywhere on both sides of the ball. Wide receiver Keegan Bass Keegan Bass 5’9″ | 175 lbs | WR Mustang | 2023 State OK has been a consistent playmaker for the Broncos and the wide receiver tandem of Bass and fellow senior Jacobe Johnson Jacobe Johnson 6’4″ | DB Mustang | 2023 State OK was one of the best 1-2 punches in 6A-1 over the last few seasons. Johnson is a top five overall prospect but is listed at defensive back. Bass, who’s signed with Air Force, has been a playmaker for the Bronco offense and even helping out in special teams as well. The one thing that we really like about Bass is the physicality that he brings to the field. He’s not just a flashy player that only impacts the game when he has the ball in his hands.

We knew that Union standout Grayson Tempest Grayson Tempest 5’11” | WR Union | 2023 State OK was an outstanding athlete but his emergence as one of the top wide receiver prospects during the 2022 season was something we didn’t see coming. After starting for Union at quarterback, Tempest moved over to wide receiver as a senior and became their top receiver in the first half of the season. He was also a major threat in the return game on special teams. Tempest simply ran away from opponents, showcasing speed that many teams just couldn’t compete with. Tempest’s emergence as a playmaker on offense would eventually spark his recruitment and he would be offered by and would sign with the hometown Golden Hurricanes.

Another Bixby Spartan on this breakdown is senior standout Jakeb Snyder Jakeb Snyder 5’10” | 170 lbs | WR Bixby | 2023 State OK after a stellar career where he started for the Spartans on both sides of the ball. For a while, we had Snyder listed as an overall athlete for his abilities at wide receiver and also at cornerback. Snyder is committed to play at Oklahoma as a preferred walk on. This might be the wrong pick, but if we had to go one side of the ball or the other, we’ll go with wide receiver for Snyder moving forward. He can also be an asset to the Spartans in the return game on special teams. Snyder was an experienced and more importantly a productive player for the Spartans over the last few seasons as they continued winning titles.

One of the more underrated wide receivers in the state’s 2023 class was Madill standout Stephen Sisco Stephen Sisco 6’0″ | 190 lbs | WR Madill | 2023 State OK coming into the 2022 season. Just look at the production and that tells you everything you need to know. Every single week, Sisco was one of the top performing wide receivers in the state and he made three to four touchdown games look routine each week. And what was really impressive was that Sisco became a name that opponents knew about during the season and yet, he was still able to produce at a very high level. Sisco is a very consistent playmaker that should be able to continue that reliability at the next level. He signed earlier this week with Madill.
