Player Of The Year Watchlist – Week Three

Enjoy!</strong></em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Every Friday throughout the 2026 season we will be adding three new players to our Prep Redzone Oklahoma Player Of The Year Watchlist. Anyone is eligible to be added but this is a list that is reserved for the best of the best. This is our fourth week of adding names and it's still very early on in the season. But these three additions have already stood out this fall and all three came into this season, firmly established as some of the best players in the state of Oklahoma. Another thing that all three have in common is their versatility. All three players can be dominant on both sides of the ball and even in the special teams department.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1035154' first='Kaleb' last='Blackwolf'] - 2027 Athlete - Del City</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Del City senior [player_tooltip player_id='1035154' first='Kaleb' last='Blackwolf'] has been one of the better athletes in the state for a few years now so he's another example of a player where it was only a matter of time before he was added to the watchlist. Blackwolf and the Eagles are off to a dominant start so far this season. Blackwolf has been unstoppable and it hasn't mattered where Blackwolf has lined up on the field. Offensively, he's been incredibly efficient with the football in his hands and has been a big play guy for the Eagles. He's also been productive and scored as a kick returner and you can't forget about what he can do on the defensive side of the ball. Blackwolf and the Eagles will take center stage tonight as the Eagles host defending champion Carl Albert. Blackwolf and this Del City team is off to a 2-0 start but the competition definitely gets ratcheted up with the Titans coming to town. It wouldn't be surprising to see these two teams squaring off again with much more on the line. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1838000' first='Ridge' last='Blackbear'] - 2028 Running Back/Linebacker - Tahlequah Sequoyah</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tahlequah Sequoyah running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1838000' first='Ridge' last='Blackbear'] is one of very few juniors that have made the watchlist early on this season. He enjoyed a breakout season as a sophomore and has helped lead Sequoyah to a 3-0 start this fall. Blackbear has been a touchdown machine, scoring four touchdowns in each of their first three games. He scored exclusively on the ground in the first two games but in last week's win, Blackbear ran for two more touchdowns and caught two touchdowns. He's on pace for 40 touchdowns by the end of the regular season and for Sequoyah, they are hoping to make a deep run into November and ultimately December. He's also one of their leading tacklers on defense. For us, Blackbear will be a major player to watch next week as Sequoyah opens up district play. They head to Tulsa to square off with powerhouse Lincoln Christian. All eyes will be on that heavyweight clash in 2A-1 to kick off district play. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='478124' first='Semaj' last='Stanford'] - 2027 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Broken Arrow</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is probably the third straight year that Broken Arrow wide receiver and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='478124' first='Semaj' last='Stanford'] finds himself on this watch list. Because for three straight years, Stanford has been one of the very best players in the state. He was our PRZ-Oklahoma Freshman Of The Year in 2023 and has just continued to get better and better. Whether it was his first two seasons at Jenks or the last two seasons at Broken Arrow, he's been dominant against the state's best competition. We also just got another chance to see Stanford in person as the Tigers beat Owasso in week two. Whether it was offense, defense or as a kick returner, Stanford was the best player on the football field. The Oregon commit caught a couple touchdown passes in the win, was a hard hitter on defense and made defenders miss as a returner when he had a chance.
