Another Under Armour All American is Mustang defensive back Jacobe Johnson Jacobe Johnson 6'4" | DB Mustang | 2023 State OK . And like several players within this top ten, Johnson is an absolute star on both sides of the ball for the Broncos. While he’s headed to Norman to play cornerback, Johnson has shown that he can also torch DB’s as a big playmaker within the Mustang offense. And similar to Jobe at Community Christian, Johnson is one of the best two-sport stars in the state’s 2023 class. He’s a legitimate top ten prospect for both basketball and football in this year’s senior class. While his future appears to be on the gridiron, we can’t overlook what he’s been able to do on the basketball floor. Johnson is determined to help lead the Broncos much further in the 6A-1 playoffs and contend for a state title.

Coming into Friday night, one of the top overall prospects was Mustang senior Jacobe Johnson Jacobe Johnson 6'4" | DB Mustang | 2023 State OK , who is committed to OU. Johnson is a two-way star for the Broncos and he showed why on Friday night. He would finish as the leading receiver on offense with four catches for 46 yards. On defense, where he’ll play his college ball, Johnson was impressive in several moments throughout the night. He did a good job of disrupting what Union wanted to do in the screen game by breaking up multiple bubble screens. But unfortunately, there is reason to be concerned moving forward when it comes to Johnson and his impact down the stretch. Very late in the game, Johnson went down with what appeared to be an ankle injury. We’ll have to wait and see on how serious the injury will end up being.

There’s no doubt that Jacobe Johnson Jacobe Johnson 6'4" | DB Mustang | 2023 State OK is the most well-known Mustang standout this year as he’s been a standout since his freshman season. Johnson has been considered a top ten prospect in the state for football and basketball since that breakout freshman year. Johnson committed to OU in August and has been focused only on his senior season and helping Mustang reach new heights on the gridiron. Johnson is one of the best defensive backs in the state and in this part of the country. He’s been a lockdown corner for a few seasons. However, he’s also arguably the top playmaker on the Mustang offense. The Bronco coaches have gotten creative with how to split Johnson’s time on both sides of the ball but he’ll play a big role as he’ll be one of the toughest playmakers that Owasso has faced this week.
