About Kapono
Expert Analysis
Andy Pham | Prep Redzone Scout
Kapono put it all together before his injury. He’s a signal caller who is a good athlete and took the steps to become a better passer and was blossoming into a well-rounded quarterback. He is a threat on the ground and does well with off-platform plays. He shows a good touch on his throws, and before the injury, was making a case of a late riser.

Po has been more of a dual threat and when he comes in the game it’s more of a mystery on what he’ll do. He is a threat with his legs and can make defenses pay with his arm. West has an aggressive defense, if they pin their ears back and don’t have a spy, So might be off to the races with his legs.

Manuela is a dual threat quarterback and he showed good ball placement last week with some of his throws. His improv and ability to extend plays will help as his receivers will have additional time to get open and work back to him if the play breaks down. His ability as a rusher will keep the Timpview defense from being too aggressive.

Manuela is a dual-threat signal caller who opens up an offense with the threat of his legs. An RPO environment would be what he is best at, due to defenses having to have gap integrity. He is a signal caller with a quick delivery. He processes at a good clip, and he does best throwing on the run, as it forces the backer to choose what he has to do, and he can react off that. Manuela throws the ball well and has a nice touch on his intermediate throws. If the offense is stagnant, using his legs will open up the offense and allow the rest of the players the ability to breathe and have a new set of downs to work with.

Manuela made some good throws during the session and moved the offense along, but his main asset will be his legs. In 7s, you get to see more of his throws, and he continues to get more and more accurate. He has command of the offense, and his legs will add intrigue under the Friday Night lights. He’s a dual threat specialist and it was nice to see him in a setting where he tested his arm.

Manuela looks to be the next QB under center for the Caveman this upcoming season. Has a slow wind delivery that gives a ball a tight spiral with speed. Anticipation to throw receivers open. Accuracy to hit his receivers on touch, rip and power throws. Mobility to move around the pocket, scramble and throw on the run. A dual threat QB that has the ability to climb up the rankings when we start the 2025 season.
