About Jhalil
Expert Analysis
Carl Frederick | Prep Redzone Scout
Anderson was a stud for Coolidge High School last season and was ranked in our Maryland 2026 class at 64th overall. He made the jump to LSA for one more year of high school ball and it already seems to be paying off. While he had a few offers before transferring in, recently his list has grown to double digits and he is expected to have a major role on the Timberwolves offense. He is 6’4 with wheels, Anderson picked up a UNC offer too.

brings a prototypical outside receiver profile at 6-foot-4, creating consistent mismatches in contested-catch situations. His expansive catch radius gives quarterbacks a wide margin for error, as Anderson routinely adjusts to off-target throws and finishes through contact. He uses his length and body control effectively along the boundary, making him a reliable target in high-leverage moments.
Anderson played a key role in leading Coolidge to the 2025 Turkey Bowl victory over Dunbar, showcasing his ability to perform on a big stage. His combination of size, ball skills, and situational reliability has attracted interest and offers from multiple programs, including UAlbany, the University of Delaware, UMass, and Delaware State. With continued development, Anderson projects as a high-upside perimeter weapon at the next level.

Anderson: Explosive Playmaker Reopens Recruitment Ahead of Senior Season
Anderson is a high-flying playmaker for Coolidge High School, capable of stretching the field as a deep threat or turning a simple screen pass into a big gain. His crisp route running combined with his ability to make tough, contested catches makes him a nightmare matchup for defenders.
Back in May, the talented wideout decommitted from East Carolina University, reopening his recruitment and drawing renewed interest from college programs. As he heads into his senior season, expect more schools to get involved.
With his playmaking ability and highlight-reel potential, Anderson will be one of the most entertaining prospects to watch in the region this fall.

is a big-bodied, physical wide receiver who grabs your attention on the field because of his size and how he uses it. Anderson is an apparent mismatch on the field, especially in the red zone. There are several highlights of his winning contested catches with strong hands, and he shows good body control while catching touchdowns.
Anderson is more than just a big target. He can stretch the field. In one play, Anderson sold a fade route with a smart steam and a jump-ball catch at the goal line. On another, he ran a hitch-and-go, fooled the cornerback, and scored.
Anderson also has the skills to get those yards after the catch on short gains. On a bubble screen, how showed patience, cut across the field, broke a tackle, and scored. That’s just one sample of him making things happen with the ball when it’s in his hands. Speed-wise, he’s more of a strider who can get separation. Anderson has solid ball skills and knows how to work himself open against zone coverage. He’s a reliable possession receiver who can make the change. Anderson has a significant upside with his big frame, strong hands and a nose for the end zone.

‘s frame caught my attention before anything else, provided FLEW Elite with phenomenal limb range as an outside option for Hill. FLEW liked to deploy creative alignments, yet you could find Anderson almost exclusively working as a flanker option. Smaller/quicker WRs did their thing, yet Anderson was the recipient of hitches, curls, and an occasional go route. Was a pleasure watching Anderson and company work.

I didn’t get to see Hill throw much of on Sunday, yet I heard he was ripping balls through serious wind. @tdhald posted some additional clips. https://t.co/vRYw2ErGD7 pic.twitter.com/ezfcH1jiy6

Anderson is a dynamic weapon for Dunbar (DC). He already has great size for a D1 receiver at 6’3 190lbs and uses it to his advantage. He can make redzone jump balls look easy and shows good sideline awareness when the ball is in the air. After the catch he can make defenders miss, break tackles, and out run a defense. Jhalil’s ceiling is very high, keep an eye on him as he becomes a key part of Dunbar’s offense. Anderson already has 1 offer from Marshall University.
