Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
An impressive South Georgia wideout with size, speed, and the ability to stretch the field, Dunbar is a big-time weapon with a lean 6-foot-5 175-pound frame who knows how to jump and pluck the ball out of the air. He’s tough to stay with down the field and is coming off a strong junior season where he caught 26 passes for 476 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s a playmaking pass-catcher who made a big commitment over the weekend to Pittsburgh. He committed to the Panthers over Georgia Tech, Duke, West Virginia, Michigan State, among others.

Jaydon Dunbar Jaydon Dunbar 6'5" | 175 lbs | WR Thomas County Central | 2026 State GA has exploded into one of the breakout prospects in the state this offseason. Dunbar is rail-thin at 6’5 175 and has some serious giddy-up, making him one of the more unique blends of size, speed, and upside in the entire country. Dunbar is explosive out of his stance and finds his top speed in a hurry, allowing him to quickly trot by corners and immediately send them into recovery mode. A lot of tall, super-thin receivers lumber a bit in the open field, but not Dunbar. His feet are quick and explosive throughout the entire process, while also possessing the twitch to jump across the face of receivers. Dunbar is a massive target who you can trust on jump balls, especially as he adds weight. His selling point, however, is his ability to separate vertically and take the top off the defense. Dunbar is an elite prospect.

A tall, lean wideout with a frame that should allow him to keep adding more weight and muscle, Dunbar shows explosion off the snap for his size and the ability to turn on the jets down the field. He tracks the ball well in the air and knows how to safely secure the football. He’s tough to cover by smaller defenders and can be tough to bring to the ground after the catch. The 6-foot-5 175-pounder from South Georgia hauled in 21 passes last fall for 390 yards and six touchdowns. He added two recent offers from Georgia Southern and Pittsburgh with more likely to follow. Look for him to climb the 2026 Prep Redzone rankings in the spring update.
