A South Georgia defender with an aggressive style of play, Herring was an easy addition to the latest rankings update after helping lead an elite Thomas County Central defense to another state title. The hard-hitting, sure-tackling defender reads the run quickly and knows how to deliver a sound hit behind his pads. One of the Yellow Jacket’s leading tacklers last season, Herring made 73 total stops with 12 TFLs and two INTs. He’s a violent defender who can absolutely play at the D1-level. Look for Herring to have another outstanding season this fall as a senior.

A sleeper linebacker to know in South Georgia who deserves more recognition, Herring is a state-champion defender who hits hard and consistently finds his way to the ball-carrier. Playing on one of the best teams across the country, this aggressive, instinctive linebacker showed on film that he has the ability to play at the D1 level. He plays hard, wraps up properly, and was able to make 73 tackles and 12 TFLs while picking off two passes in coverage. As a senior this fall look for Herring to be a consistent playmaker once again for the powerful Yellow Jacket defense in 2026.
