Thompson checks into our updated rankings as the number one ATH and number six overall prospect in the class across Idaho. He has had one of the best off-seasons of any prospect in the state and holds five offers heading into his Senior season for Rocky Mountain. College of Idaho, University of Idaho, Idaho State, Montana State and Eastern Washington have all offered Thompson, and it would not be surprising if other FCS schools came in and offered him before the first national signing day. The All-State selection is a true ball hawk at the third level, can cover a ton of ground in coverage and has tremendous tackling abilities in the box and shows the ability to set the edge and has fluid hips in transition with punt return abilities as well. Thompson is rated as a 3-star prospect per 247-Sports.

Thompson is a very impressive safety prospect with natural hands and ball skills at the point of attack while able to cover a ton of ground and is a long and rangy strider with impressive open field tackle your abilities and a natural feel from the third level. He was recently offered by Montana State and also holds offers from College of Idaho and the University of Idaho.

Thompson will end up being one of the best safeties in the state when its all said and done this season. He shows elite range and the ability to really cover a half of a field. Where he is most impressive is in his ability to come down hill in run support. A player who triggers quickly and is able to make play at or near the line of scrimmage. A high football IQ that does an excellent job reading routes and is always in the right spot at the right time. Going into his senior season college coaches are going to be looking for his ability to turn the football over at a higher clip but he is a special player for sure.

Thompson is another kid that has recently seen his recruitment pick up and is in line for a monster Senior season for what should be a loaded Rocky team. The First Team All-State selection has taken a visit to Idaho State, Washington State and Idaho. Expect Thompson to continue to see his stock rise this summer and turn some heads at camps he attends.
