Oelkers has been off to a great start in his junior season for Rocky Mountain and is one of the top playmakers across the state regardless of class. He is explosive, runs precise routes and breaks off quickly with start/stop abilities in phase and can pluck the ball out of the air with plus tracking abilities and good body control when going up to get it. He has put up strong showings week in and week out so far this year and went for over 230 all purpose yards while tacking on 2 touchdowns and showed his versatility and ability to be dangerous from various spots offensively.

One of the top players in the state regardless of class, the Rocky Mountain product is in line for a monster Junior season and should have a breakout year for another loaded offense. He is twitchy downfield, runs precise routes and gets into blind spots before breaking off with natural hands and can pluck the ball out of the air with ease with tracking abilities and body control in traffic. His ability to get open against man coverage downfield and settle in zones is impressive and he also flashes plenty of open field wiggle and twitch to make defenders miss in open space and has a third level gear. Virginia Tech, Idaho and Memphis have already offered and there should be a host of other west region schools coming in after his Junior year.

Oelkers is coming off a tremendous off-season so far and solid sophomore year campaign where he tallied 700 APY with 5 touchdowns and should be a dominant force as a junior for Rocky Mountain. He has seen his stock rise in recent days after exploding at the UC Report camp over the weekend in Utah where he worked out as both a running back and receiver, and took home MVP Honors at the end of it. He is a dynamic athlete that runs crisp routes, has elite tracking abilities in traffic and strong hands while able to create seperation downfield and is excellent after the catch with return abilities as well.
