Baxter checks into our rankings as the top running back in the class and is very explosive and dynamic in the open field. He has quick feet through the hole, start/stop abilities in traffic and can make defenders miss without loosing speed. Showing patience behind pullers in gap schemes and the ability to cutback against the grain against overflowing defenders makes him a versatile runner that can excel in multiple offenses in college and has tons of experience heading into his final year. He is a reliable pass catcher as well and is a big play guy with third level speed in the clear while also tough to take down in-between the tackles due to contact balance/pad level and the ability to always fall forward. He should have a monster senior season for Rocky Mountain and be one of if not the states top rusher.

Baxter is one of the top backs in this class across Idaho and is a explosive and elusive runner that has great open field speed in the clear, quick feet through the hole and start/stop abilities in tight windows. He shows he can make defenders with with good foot speed and lateral quickness while doing a nice job staying behind his blocks before committing to a lane and has a true third level gear to pull away from defenders. Also a receiving threat out of the backfield with solid hands and route running abilities, he is a extremely dangerous player that can do damage through the air or on the ground. Baxter should draw plenty of D2/FCS+ level interest as he approaches his senior season and should have a monster senior season performance for Rocky Mountain.

Baxter is moving through a very nice Junior season for Rocky Mountain and is a very balanced back with a diverse skill-set and is a natural ball carrier with all the traits to look for. He is quick twitched, runs behind his pads with natural forward lean and contact balance to bounce off tacklers and shows a strong initial burst and open field speed. He also flashes cutback abilities, vision in tight windows while staying patient behind his blocks and has good foot-speed through the hole and can make defenders miss with short area twitch and lateral movement. Also a natural pass catcher out of the backfield, Baxter is a complete back that should be drawing plenty of FCS+ attention this off-season and should continue on his Junior season tear.

Baxter is your prototype for a big play threat the soon to be junior is as explosive as we have seen. Playing for a loaded team with a ton of varsity talent was the only reason that Baxter played the majority of his snaps on Junior Varsity. He can take the ball the distance on ever single play and it wouldn’t be shocking to see him lineup in the slot next season that’s how dangerous he can be with the football in his hands.

Baxter checks into our rankings as a top-five player at his position and could see himself shooting up our rankings by this time next year and through his Junior season with Varsity experience. He is one of the more explosive players in the 2027 class and is a natural ball carrier that runs violent and has true third level speed with good twitch in the short area. Baxter should have a breakout campaign for Rocky Mountain in 2025, and is a name to note heading into the season and a no-brainer college caliber back who should see his stock rise over the next 12 months.

Baxter played primarily on the lower levels at Rocky and that is a testament to the depth they had at the varsity because keeping this player off the field is going to be hard to do. He is as explosive a sophomore we have seen on tape. Able to make defenders miss, break tackles and has game wrecking speed. He also is a sold pass catcher out of the backfield and should be on everyone radar as the first week of the season approaches next year.
