Expert Analysis
Robert Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Blanks is the type of back who thrives on contact and embraces the physical side of the game. With 842 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns this season, he’s proven himself as a dependable chain mover capable of controlling the pace. Blanks’ physicality and hard nose style makes him difficult to bring down on first contact and his ability to run through defenders wears out defenses over time. He excels at finding tough yards in short situations, giving his offense the ability to sustain long drives. As the playoffs progress, Blanks’ ability to make the first defender miss and being a reliable back makes him someone to watch for.

Blanks has had back-to-back games with over 100+ rushing yards. The 6’0 190-pound had 23 carries for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns. He has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, change of direction, good speed, and balance. Blanks uses his quick start to get an edge on defensive players. Uses his very good vision to find himself a route through the defense. He is a mixture of a weaver and a power back. He’ll use his change of direction to juke out defenders with his dynamic cuts, or he will put his shoulder down and truck through them. I’m impressed with how Blanks continues to churn forward after first contact. Keep an eye on him to continue putting up big numbers throughout the season.

Blanks has the perfect combination of size and speed being able to lower his shoulder or turn on the jets to out run the defense when he gets into the open field. He is able to pick up chunk yardage by making the first defender miss and can drag would be tacklers if their teammates don’t rally to the football. He has great vision and is able to find the hole quickly climbing to the second level and making things happen when he is able to bounce it to the outside. He figures to be the workhorse back next year and can turn a lot of heads this offseason if he hits the camp circuit. He will be a stock-riser to know moving forward.

Blanks is a bigger back that has some top end speed to take it the distance when he makes it into the open field. He shows good vision being able to find the hole and make a play when he gets to the second level. He is able to pick up chunk yardage running with power and lowering his shoulder. He split carries last season and will look to have more of those explosive plays this season to get more touches. He will be a player to add to the radar for this season.
