Expert Analysis
Matt Tate | Prep Redzone Scout
Walker measures in at 5’10 160-pounds. This previous season, he had 26 total tackles (15 solo, 11 assisted), 2 INT, and 7 PD. Walker has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, change of direction, and good jumping. Good back pedal. Very good man and zone coverage. Walker does a great job timing up pass break ups with his very good closing quickness. Has very good read and reaction speed, balancing perfectly watching the QB and covering the WR. Walker does a good job in run support and isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. I’m looking forward to seeing how he continues his development. He’s an exciting player with a lot of promise.

Walker killed it in this combine. He was 7th in the 40 yard dash, 4th L-drill (30th nationally), and 1st pro shuttle (20th nationally). He has very good acceleration, speed, change of direction, and good jumping. Very good concentration and smooth footwork during the tennis ball ladder drill. During the 7 on 7 drills, he jammed the wide receiver at the line of scrimmage and re routed with ease. Smooth controlled back pedal with fluid cuts. Very good man and zone coverage. Very good read and reaction time with good closing quickness and good timing swatting the balls away. Great job by the defensive back.

Walker was a player that showed a good short burst being able to get to top speed quickly. He was able to show off his hands throughout the day and was smooth in his route running, making catches look easy as well. He can get in and out of his breaks quickly on defense and has good recovery speed, being able to play trail technique and came down with an INT. He was a player with good technique who you will need to keep an eye on moving forward.
