Expert Analysis
Robert Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Tripp is a tight end prospect on the rise with the skill set to follow in the footsteps of previous Grandview standouts who earned Division I attention. He possesses reliable hands and impressive straight line speed, allowing him to work the edges and separate from defenders in space. Though he served in a rotational role last season, Tripp’s flashes suggest substantial upside once he assumes full time starting duties. He runs clean routes, secures the football naturally and contributes in the run game by setting the edge with physicality. As his role expands over the next two seasons, Tripp’s production should follow. A strong offseason of development could position him as a notable riser in the rankings.

Tripp measures in at 6’0 200-pounds. This previous season, he had 14 receptions for 173 yards with 1 touchdown. He has good athletic ability due to very good jumping, good acceleration, change of direction, and speed. Tripp maintains a good release and uses his good separation quickness to get open. He’ll fight through contact to get open or find a soft spot in the zone to exploit. Smooth route running with good ball tracking and very good catching. He’ll pluck the ball out of the air. Uses his strong hands to hold onto the ball while taking a hit. Keep an eye on Tripp this off-season!

Tripp has good athletic ability due to very good jumping, good acceleration, speed, and change of direction. Tripp did a good job during the 7 on 7 portion of the event. He has a good release against both press jam and off coverage. Smooth breaks into his route with good separation quickness. He’d fight through contract and get open. Good route running skills. Tripp has very good ball tracking and catching. Good on contested catches. I’m interested to see how Tripp continues his development as a player!
