Grandview may lean on its ground game but McCarty has proven he can take charge through the air when needed. The senior has thrown for 1,777 yards with a 58% completion rate, totaling 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions. While not known as a dual-threat, McCarty has added 107 rushing yards and a score on the ground, showing he can extend plays when the situation calls for it. His ability to manage the game, sustain drives, and make timely throws will be key in Round 1. If McCarty keeps his composure and limits mistakes, he gives Grandview the balanced offensive attack it needs to stay in control.

McCarty delivered a steady showing in Week 0, throwing for 245 yards and two touchdowns against a tough Vista Peak defense. While he did throw one interception, his overall poise stood out as he consistently kept his offense moving. McCarty showed confidence in the pocket, reading defenses effectively and distributing the ball to his playmakers. With a challenging matchup against Legend looming in Week 1, he will look to build on this strong outing. If McCarty continues to progress, he could become this teams key playmaker, giving his team a chance to compete deep into the season.

McCarty lives up to his electrifying name with his ability to make plays through the air and occasionally on special teams. He completed 156 of 293 passes for 1,910 yards and 17 touchdowns while battling a challenging schedule. Though his completion rate is 53%, his willingness to take shots downfield kept defenses honest. McCarty also displayed versatility as a punter, averaging 27.8 yards on five punts. With another year of development ahead, McCarty can potentially become one of Colorado’s premier quarterbacks.

McCarty ended his regular season on a good note. He showed out against one of the best teams in the state. The junior went 16/27 for 262 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. There’s a ton to like about this game. He has a cannon for an arm. His very good throw power and very good release allows him to make any throw needed. McCarty has very good accuracy. He’ll thread the needle between multiple defenders throwing it where only his receiver can catch it. Very good ball placement too. He throws it to meet his receiver in stride. One play that stood out to me was, he threw an accurate ball while getting hit. McCarty isn’t afraid of pressure, and stands tall even when he gets thrashed by the defensive lineman. I’m very impressed with this junior!
