He made his biggest impact at running back where he is a strong, downhill runner with the contact balance to run straight through defenders in the open field. Anthony finished his junior year with 137 carries for 1,418 yards and 19 touchdowns, along with one touchdown catch, in 12 games. Brenden also continued to be one of the leaders on Pikeville’s defense at linebacker, finishing the season with 115 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, one sack, and one interception which he returned for a touchdown. While he has received some college interest, I expect more eyes to be on him heading into his senior year as he definitely has the talent to play at the next level.

Anthony makes a considerable difference defensively due to his ability to breach the pocket and apply pressure on the quarterback. I also like how Anthony can read the offense and get in position for the pick. Anthony also proved he can use his speed to shut down the rush from along the edge.

He also has shown the ability to hit a second gear to break off on long runs once he hits the open field. Anthony also caught one touchdown pass and threw a touchdown this season. He has also shown the speed to run away from the defense once he hits the open field. Anthony also played a key role on defense at linebacker, finishing the game with 11 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one interception which he returned for a touchdown. Brenden doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player to watch going into his senior year as he has already received some college interest. Anthony and the Panthers will be looking to defend their state title in the 1A State Championship Game against Raceland this Friday.

He played a key role in their 1A State Championship run, finishing fourth on the team with 120 tackles along with 13 tackles for loss, three sacks, and one fumble recovery. Anthony is an off-ball outside linebacker that is very impressive agains the run. He does a great job of reading his keys and flowing to the ball. Once he gets to the ball carrier, Anthony has proven to be a very reliable open field tackler. Anthony doesn’t currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and should see some offers come his way as his role on the Pikeville defense continues to grow.
