has been a name that’s come up all summer—for good reason. The long, athletic wideout is making a major move from Seton Hall Prep to St. Peter’s Prep, and that change in scenery could spark a breakout year. Amari has always flashed strong hands, the ability to win over the top, and the frame to shield defenders at the catch point.
Now stepping into a high-tempo, high-volume offense at St. Peter’s, he’ll have more chances to rack up receptions—especially with the departure of

transferring to the Lawrenceville school. This shift provides Amari with the perfect opportunity to shine. With more targets likely headed his way and a scheme designed to spread the field, don’t be surprised if he emerges as one of New Jersey’s leaders in catches this fall. His coming-out party might just turn into a takeover.

is quietly emerging as one of New Jersey’s top wideouts. Now at St. Peter’s Prep, the 6-foot, 160-pound receiver has earned recent offers from Penn State and Boston College. He’s a smooth route-runner with explosiveness, size, and the ability to win outside. With more eyes on him in St. Peter’s high-powered offense, Amari is poised for a true breakout season on the national stage.
Just the beginning of the next chapter.
I’m excited to announce my transfer to St. Peter’s Prep to continue my journey on and off the field.

Jones was one of my favorite players all tournament. He flashed high-level athleticism all weekend. I thought his twitch and quickness stood out. His ability to use those traits in his route running and separation was excellent. There were not a ton of reps showcasing long speed, but they could separate on crossing routes. They were the ideal target to attack the middle of the field in 7v7.
There were not many chances for true jump ball or contested catch situations, but he showed strong hands all weekend, he relies on his hands not his body, even when ball placement is right on his chest, and he did on a few occasions show good vertical and strong focus when making catches outside his frame.
There were a lot of really strong performances but for a non-QB hard to argue that Jones was one of, if not the best 2028 at the 18u level.

. Jones attacks the field aggressively and quickly, looking to put pressure on defensive backs as they frantically backpedal. Snapping his hips when he enters the second phase of his route will make for more separation. A forceful runner, Jones appears difficult to take to the ground due to the sheer force he runs with. Jones is equally as fearless as he is powerful, showing that he is willing to go over the middle and take hits to the body to do so. Jones is mostly used as a possession receiver. I am curious to see how he can stretch the field and seeing more of his ball skills.

from Seton Hall Prep had a solid freshman campaign, proving he could handle the responsibilities of an outside receiver. Despite playing with two different quarterbacks and dealing with inconsistency at the position, he still made an impact.
At 6-foot, 160 pounds, Amari already shows promise with his physical tools. He’s strong at the catch point and uses his frame well to shield defenders. However, where he’ll take the next step is in expanding his route tree. His current film is heavy on hitches and slants, allowing him to capitalize on his size, but developing a wider array of routes will elevate his game.
Improving his hip mobility, suddenness, and ability to change direction will be key to his growth. He’ll become a much more complete receiver if he polishes those areas.

is primed to be one of the top receivers coming out of the state four years from now. Amari is a gifted receiver that has all of the qualities you’re looking for in a future star at the receiver position. As long as Amari continues to grow, he will be a tall, physical force lined up out wide.

has that Randy Moss-like frame, very long legs and a slender build, making it look like there’s a track star out on the field. As long as Amari continues to trend in the same direction, there’s no stopping him from achieving greatness. Displaying excellent route running skills, body control, and hand-eye coordination at the NYNJ Next Combine, Amari left a lasting impressive and will be a player that will garnish a ton of attention over these next four seasons. I expect huge offers to make their way to Amari in the near future.

has the makings of being one of the next great receivers not only at the high school level but beyond it as well. There is something about Amari that just breaths confidence in his game. He showed fluid route running skills as he went up against the DB’s, and his fancy footwork had him getting corners turned the wrong way often. Earning the MVP for wide receivers, Amari is built to be a WR1.
Amari Jones will be attending Seton Hall Prep next season and I think he has the potential to make an immediate impact in the wide receiver room. With

was back for a second Prep Redzone Next Middle School Camp and he again separated himself from the pack. Jones, walkup at camp, came in much bigger and more physically advanced than he was a year ago, up to 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds. Has turned the corner from long, skinny kid that can catch well to a bonafide 2028 wide receiver prospect to know. Loved what I saw from him during the 1-on-1 portion of camp. Caught the ball away from his body and had excellent body control. Once he was able to get a step on the defender, he was able to stride out to create separation on his route. In addition to what he did in live action, he also tested very well. Out of all the receivers, he finished tied for second in the shuttle with a 4.25 and the third best forty time in the wide receiver group with a 4.82. Furthermore, he finished with the second-best broad jump of anyone at the camp with an 8’6″.

was MVP at wide receiver. If I recall correctly this strayed from the consensus of the camp. Jones did have a few drops that were certainly frowned upon; however, his explosion, twitch, speed, and sharpness were simply too hard for me to overlook. Jones’ cuts when route running cut up the turf at times. The ability to stop on a dime and make his break stood out. Jones was also a prospect who was always running at full speed as he flew all over the field. I am not sure if he realized it or not, but Jones also beat press coverage by reading the defender’s leverage, taking advantage of that. Lastly, Jones never lost a matchup by someone out-manning him – only a drop or two plagued him. As excited as I am to have discovered Jones, for him to be a truly elite receiver he must convert all catches.
