The #1 biggest winner of the first PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp of the summer undoubtedly goes to Minnehaha Academy and SMB Wolfpack 8th grade (!) QB Carter Cupito. A breakout performer and winner from the 2025 season, Cupito took over the reigns as SMB's QB1, manufacturing what was the biggest year-to-year turnaround of any one program in the state (1-8 to 7-3) while nearing qualifying for the Class 4A, Section 5 championship. The son of Gophers' legend Bryan Cupito, Carter is also a state championship-winning PG with Minnehaha Academy from the spring, and he could really sling the ball around with velocity, accuracy, and pop in a camp. Consistent mechanics, natural arm strength, an elite athletic background, and cool under pressure, this kid is a natural winner with early tools and developmental traits that scream P4 football. Good move by the Gophs offering early; and you gotta love a legacy recruit! We'll be hearing a lot more about this kid over the next four years of Minnesota high school sports.

Princeton's finest [player_tooltip player_id='1288296' first='Carson' last='Pruett'] produced a stock-rising performance at the Minnesota Gophers' first prospect camp of the summer, as well as one of the cooler narratives. Pruett, a well-known face on the Minnesota 2027 recruiting scene, took a prudent approach to his first camp of the summer, working out as a fullback with a significant number of Missouri Valley and NSIC schools in attendance. Both of those conferences like them some fullback, and Pruett blew the roof of testing, measuring in right around where he's listed at on our site. Pruett was also dynamic as a route runner and earned more than his fair share of 1v1 wins versus a competitive, variety-packed LB group. Pruett is just a straight-up good football player.

The state's #1 LB, especially uncommitted LB, Champlin Park's Miles Felton had almost every Golden Gopher scouting staff members eye on Tuesday night in Dinkytown. Additionally, North Dakota State, North Dakota, and South Dakota were all in attendance, all schools that have offered Felton, and although he didn't earn the Gophers offer, he's got the athleticism to compete at an FBS program, it's just a matter of where. Well-rounded, fluid, and explosive skillset with the necessary COD ability to corral even the twitchiest of RBs. I'm sure Felton was having a few conversations with potential suitors yesterday after camp, and I'd bet on seeing a commitment come out of the Champlin Park's standout senior's camp later this summer.

Lakeville South's [player_tooltip player_id='2125946' first='Griffen' last='Dean'] has made a case for himself as the most underrated 2027 prospect in Minnesota. A nightmare for 6A coaches to deal with, a fact that they will tell you themselves, Dean was urgently needing some verified measureables and a real, in-person evaluation to move the needle. Although his film and production are very impressive, college programs seem to be having trouble pulling the trigger, something I remember happening to Carson Hansen back in the 2023 cycle, despite the desperate pleas of PRZMN to the coaching ranks of CFB. Well, Dean showed up and then some, turning the heads of the big boys in attendance during the testing portion of PJ Fleck's RTB Prospect Camp. Explosive acceleration and 0-60 get-up, jittery, sudden footwork, and a front-of-the-line competitor. St. Thomas offered a roster spot after camp, and it's safe to say that someone's stock is soaring this morning.

Someone needs a ranking's bump! A PrepRedzoneMN Showcase standout and veteran from MN/WI border town Hudson, Delani Oreso opened some eyes yesterday in Dinkytown. Legit 6'2+ with some juice in the athleticism front, Oreso has really improved since the last time we saw him, and he seemed to have saved his best performance for his budding career's biggest moment. Oreso came alive during 1v1s, showing off his experienced route running skillset in eye-catching effectiveness. Oreso, with deadly suddenness at the top of the route who could easily and smoothly find and manipulate a DB's blind spot, was aided by his 6'2.5" wingspan and overall impressive catch radius. He also could cut and breakdown in a blink, and was noticeably locked in, comfortable, and having with it, a deadly combination for DBs as they struggled to maintain phase all day long. I heard Oreso's name getting tossed around by some heavy hitters at the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp. Concordia-St. Paul and Winona State already offered post-camp. More offers coming!

One of the best freshman in attendance at the PJ Fleck Row the Boat Prospect Camp, [player_tooltip player_id='785859' first='Kyson' last='Wanjara'] broke onto the recruiting scene officially last night in Dinkytown. The freshman sensation is set to make a major debut in the upcoming 2029 state ranking update coming in the next week or two, but first, he made some major waves at the state's flagship university's camp. Testing well, Wanjara is mature and seasoned, both physically (noticeable muscle definition), athletically, and as a route runner, far above the typical freshman, and he showed off loose hips that he could unlock and break down with ease, sudden, fluid footwork and COD, and little to no wasted movement. Wanjara was also taking front-of-the-line reps, and he ran good testing times in the "Big Dog" group of senior skills on offer watch. The ball was coming out of Thurston's hand differently, and he could generate the most velocity out of anyone in the talented, MN-heavy group of quarterbacks. Additionally, challenging and tight-windowed throws during both drills and 1v1s were of no issue to the Shelby, Michigan native, and the whole route tree was available to Thurston in Dinkytown.
A Land of Lincoln stud working with the defensive back group, Harlem High School's Jackson Cook was a recruit heavily watched and scouted at the 2026 PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp. Cook produced good showings during testing and drills, where his front-of-the-line attitude, consistent technique, and overall play speed shone through. However, Cook really came alive and during 1v1 competition, where his superb quickness helped him fire out of his breaks with great timing and effectiveness. We watched him breakup a pass on a TE dig in impressive fashion, on a big, long TE target no less, and he made an excellent INT on a seam ball to a 6'4 pass-catcher, highlighting his ball skills and comfortability playing the ball in the air. Cook is strong and physical at the catch point with noticeable eye discipline to boot. Really like what he brings to a collegiate secondary in man coverage, and Cook got better as the day wore on. NDSU, NIU, and a couple of Ivy League competitor in the mix right now.

One of the Alphas out of the loaded DB group, the state of Iowa was well represented in Dinkytown by Clear Lake's Isaac Brownlee. An All-Eye Test selection out of the DB group as well, Brownlee backed it up with his play throughout the day of action in Dinkytown. He routinely caught PRZ's attention, notably for his ability to change direction, flip or drop his hips, and get out of his breaks. He had a smooth backpedal and overall short-area quickness, and there was zero wasted movement when changing direction or cutting. Brownlee was the fastest DB during drill work, and he made some nice plays and breakups during 1v1s, namely some physical and well-played PBUs on deep balls in the third level of the field. UPenn, Cornell, and Drake all involved right now.

Muscle build and definition more typical of a college football player than high school sophomore, Moore also has huge feet, indicating more growth coming, and he's fresh off a standout performance at the UA Chicago last weekend, getting himself on national blue blood's radars thanks to the size and verified athleticism. Smooth, easy, concise COD ability and footwork, Moore was eye-catcher throughout every phase of the PJ Fleck RTB Prospect Camp on Tuesday night in Dinkytown. South Dakota pulled the trigger and became his first offer after the performance, but he's trending towards P2 offers in his near future.

During drill work, Schnichels could change direction and shut down well, with good coordination and the looks and movement of a talented power forward on the hardwood. Coming out of Wisconsin Division 1 powerhouse Kimberly, who has produced some freaks in the weight room in recent memory, but Mau is up there with the best of them. He was very strong when reeling in tough catches over the middle of the field and had some noticeable juice as a route runner, especially given the verified size. Big, strong hands, quickness and explosiveness at the top of the route and in his breaks, and only a sophomore.
