He took TE MVP I will admit out of nowhere at our last Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase and is one that college coaches need to get on board with ASAP in my eyes at the D1 level. He constanlty will win the 1v1 battles thru contact and that has been consistent from when the 2025 season started till now. He has the best hands amongst 2028 tight ends in the entire Dakotas and shows off the poise to get yards after the catch in tight windows. I’ve even had conversations that there is plenty of upside in the defensive trenches which would intrigue me to see more of at camps this summer. Fresh off a basketball state championship this last weekend, is Tanner Wagner Tanner Wagner 6'5" | 224 lbs | TE/EDGE West Central | 2028 State SD of West Central who started his boom as our TE MVP at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase. The verified 6’5 224 pounder, wins 1v1s against smaller DBs like clockwork as I am quite intrigued with how well-versed Tanner’s hands are for his age and against high-traffic and contact areas. He also appears pretty unphased on routes when he knows he has the advantage from a poise perspective. You can lock it in right now, he’s my TE1 in this 2028 class that you need to know.

Great pass-catchers came in pairs at the wide receiver and tight end positions, as the West Central Trojans took home two MVPs in both spots as Boche Knight Boche Knight 5'7" | 160 lbs | WR West Central | 2027 State SD took our WR MVP and a new name for me at tight end in the 2028 class, Tanner Wagner Tanner Wagner 6'5" | 224 lbs | TE/EDGE West Central | 2028 State SD took our TE MVP. The verified 6’5 225 pounder, knew how to utilze his 6’7 wingspan to his advantage in the bulk of the reps I was able to watch on Sunday in Aberdeen. He also was more fluid than you would expect with his change of direction on his routes and that showed to be consistent via testing. He is one that I can’t wait to see what the rest of his tape looks like in the coming years as one of a handful of 2028s that made noise as an MVP on the offenisve side of the ball. I can’t wait to see what the Division I schools think of him at camps this summer.
