One of the Alphas out of the loaded DB group, the state of Iowa was well represented in Dinkytown by Clear Lake’s Isaac Brownlee. An All-Eye Test selection out of the DB group as well, Brownlee backed it up with his play throughout the day of action in Dinkytown. He routinely caught PRZ’s attention, notably for his ability to change direction, flip or drop his hips, and get out of his breaks. He had a smooth backpedal and overall short-area quickness, and there was zero wasted movement when changing direction or cutting. Brownlee was the fastest DB during drill work, and he made some nice plays and breakups during 1v1s, namely some physical and well-played PBUs on deep balls in the third level of the field. UPenn, Cornell, and Drake all involved right now.

of Clear Lake picked up an offer from Drake on Wednesday.
A true corner, Brownlee plays some of the best press-man coverage in the state. Getting his hands on a defensive back at the line and keeping tight coverage on them throughout his route, Brownlee is a head ache to deal with for both wide receivers and quarterbacks
Also able to play excellent zone coverage for the Lions, Brownlee uses his 6-foot-5 wingspan and speed to get his hand on the ball in the air, posting a ridiculously good (and possibly inflated) 21 pass-breakups (PBUs) in addition to three interceptions last season, including a pick-six.

is another interesting athlete to keep an eye on this offseason. The Lions prospect had a strong junior season, recording 20 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, and three interceptions (one pick-six). Brownlee possesses ideal size and length for the CB position, at 6’1″ and 185 pounds with a reported 6’5″ wingspan. When you cut on the tape, you see a smooth DB plays with a good feel for the game, showing he can stick to receivers in coverage and make plays at the catch point. His lengthy reach gives him an advantage when going up to break up passes in the air. Brownlee also did a good job beating blocks on the perimeter to step up and sniff out screens or shut down outside runs. Isaac could be the next great prospect coming out of the Lions program!

Clear Lake dominated the competition in achieving an unbeaten regular season. The Lions stamped down the competition defensively. Brownlee was a big part of that strength. The junior registered 20.0 tackles, 15 of which were solo stops. He intercepted three passes and was credited with 21 passes defended. Brownlee looks the part during his 11th-grade highlight video. Size and speed stand out. They lead to getting to the football and physicality upon arrival against the run. Browlee flashes smooth actions in coverage with a productive back pedal and quick change of direction. He likely best fits at slot cornerback or safety on the next level.
