became one of the state’s best wide receivers in this class. We had seen Chalk during the last few offseasons in 7v7 tournaments and he was routinely one of the best wide receivers in attendance. He made a move from Booker T Washington to Owasso and he immediately became the big play threat for the Rams and their passing game. Owasso’s offense was absolutely electric during the 2023 season but Chalk was their threat down the field. And that’s what he’s been for a few years now. He’ll get an opportunity to continue that in college.

established himself as one of the best wide receivers in the state’s 2024 class. Chalk has been steadily building towards this season and he’s seeing the fruits of all his labor over the last few years. Chalk has had a fantastic season with Owasso this season and he’s coming off arguably the best game of his career last week against Edmond Santa Fe. His numbers are really impressive as he’s emerged as Owasso’s top “big play” option. He has just over 750 yards on just 34 catches. We’ve seen Chalk over the last two offseasons while he played in various 7v7 tournaments and he always shined. Now he’s doing it on Friday nights with the pads on.

We take a lot of pride in covering Oklahoma high school football 24/7/365. Because of our year-long coverage, we had the benefit of watching Owasso senior wide receiver

when he played travel 7v7 with Sooner 7 for the last few offseasons. And with that came a knowledge that it was only a matter of time before Chalk became one of the top senior wide receivers in the state. Even in their loss to Bixby, Chalk was the top option on the offensive side of the ball. Then he had the best game of his career the following week against Jenks. He caught five passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns. On the season, he’s Owasso’s leading receiver in yards and touchdowns. He’s a big play threat but he’s going to be tested against a talented Union secondary.

Owasso bounced back in a big way following their week zero loss to Bixby. The Rams would play host to Jenks and would win 34-28 but the final score is not indicitive of how the game played out. They led 34-7 at one point before Jenks rallied. But the Rams would hold on to win and senior wide receiver

perhaps had his breakout moment. Chalk finished the game with five catches for just over 200 yards and three touchdowns. Chalk has been a 2024 wide receiver that we have liked for a while now and it’s not surprising to see him put up those kinds of numbers. Friday’s performance over Jenks could spark Chalk’s recruitment and get him on more radars moving forward.

was another move in addition to the Rams this offseason as he came to Owasso from Booker T Washington. Chalk has been a wide receiver prospect in the state’s 2024 class that we have talked about quite a bit this offseason. He was one of the top wide receivers we watched during the 7v7 season as he consistently stood out and torched opposing DB’s with Sooner 7. Now, as we always mention when it comes to those 7v7 standouts, we want to see it when the helmets and pads come on because that’s what we see on Friday nights. And Chalk was still that playmaker in May at Owasso’s team camp. It didn’t matter who the Rams were matched up with, Chalk found a way to make play after play. It’s a buzz word in recruiting but it’s true with Chalk. He’s one of the more underrated prospects in the state’s 2024 class.

Owasso 2024 wide receiver Duece Chalk was definitely in the conversation for best wide receiver during the two days in Owasso. The Booker T Washington transfer has been someone we’ve been talking about all offseason. While playing with Sooner 7 at various 7v7 tournaments, Chalk was routinely one of the top playmakers at the wide receiver position. And it carried over to this week when the pads came on. There were several passes that were thrown up and Chalk had to make a play on the ball and it seemed like every time that happened, he was coming down with it. When you combine the offseason stuff in 7v7 tournaments with what we saw this week, Chalk is primed for a huge summer and fall.

. We’ve covered four 7v7 tournaments so far this offseason and it feels like Chalk has gone four for four as a top performer in every single tournament that we’ve covered. Chalk is such a dynamic weapon on the offensive side of the ball and he was once again outstanding in big moments throughout the weekend. Touchdown after touchdown, Chalk was a points machine as he caught pass after pass in the end zone and did it in a variety of ways with various routes. Another thing that stood out was the rare times Chalk would go out on the defensive side of the ball and essentially be a “centerfielder” at the safety position and he made a few plays there as well as he tracked the ball incredibly well. Like Thompson, Chalk has had an outstanding offseason.

continues to impress us every time we see him on the football field. We’ve covered two tournaments so far this offseason and Chalk has been arguably the best wide receiver we’ve watched when you combine the two tournaments. Chalk is a big play threat every time he steps on the field. It didn’t matter who the quarterback was on Saturday or Sunday. They knew that Chalk was going to get open on a consistent basis and he found the end zone a lot. Going over all the video we shot from this past weekend, Chalk was the skill player that had the most clips from the tournament for the Sooner 7 White squad. So while we don’t know officially if Chalk was their leading receiver, we think that it’s a safe bet that he was either first or second. Chalk is a smooth playmaker that appears to be the next offensive weapon coming out of Booker T Washington.

was a prospect we saw quite a bit in person during the 2022 offseason while he played with Sooner 7. Chalk was also one of the top performers for Sooner 7 at a tournament down in Plano a few weeks ago. Chalk has been outstanding when we’ve watched him playing 7v7 but we wanted to see how he looked when the pads came on. Chalk has a long frame and very strong hands. One thing that really stood out to us when watching his junior film was how well he improvised when plays broke down. He had a very good connection with 2023 quarterback

and Chalk would improvise and simply find a way to get open and Boone would find him more times than not. Chalk was very productive last fall, in addition to what we saw from him during the offseason. Chalk also spent some time on the defensive side of the ball at the safety position. But when we look at him as a prospect moving forward, we think that his ceiling would be higher on the offensive side of the ball as a playmaking wide receiver. At 6’2 and 165 pounds, Chalk is on the thinner side so spending a good amount of time in the weight room this offseason will be a big key for Chalk. If the Booker T Washington standout can add some muscle and become a more physical receiver with his frame and skillset, he’ll have a massive senior season.

It’s been a bumpy ride for Booker T Washington this season. The Hornets had a slow start after playing a tough non-district schedule. Junior wide receiver

and the Hornets are looking to finish the regular season strong and take some momentum into the playoffs. Chalk came into this season with high expectations after having such a strong offseason at various camps and playing 7v7. The Hornets have quite a few weapons on the offensive side of the ball, including one of the top overall prospects in the state with 2023 standout
Micah Tease

. So Chalk’s production this season has been somewhat limited. But we believe that Chalk is still trending in the correct direction moving forward. With Tease graduating, Chalk should have another strong offseason and then go into next year as the main target within the Booker T Washington offense.
