The Rams have several pieces on the defensive side of the ball that we like moving forward and with Brown at the corner position, also keep an eye out for Cole Campbell Cole Campbell 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Owasso | 2027 State OK at the safety position. Campbell earned very valuable playing time during his freshman season and he’s impressed us when we’ve gotten a chance to see him in person. But out of the guys on this breakdown, he still remains one of the unknowns in the state’s 2027 class. Because the upside is clearly there but we also want to see more of him this spring and then later in the fall to have a more solid breakdown of him moving forward. But based on what he’s already been able to accomplish at the varsity level, Campbell is clearly a name to know in this class.

Our final newcomer is another example of a guy that probably should have already been on this list. Owasso defensive back Cole Campbell Cole Campbell 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Owasso | 2027 State OK is a prospect that they’ve been excited about for a while now. He earned playing time last season as a freshman and he returns to a secondary that has a lot of talent. In fact, the Owasso defense as a whole has the potential to be one of the better defenses in 6A-1 football this season. Campbell is going to be a name to watch because there will be a lot of eyes on this Owasso defense because they have highly rated prospects everywhere. Campbell will benefit from that exposure.

Owasso freshman Cole Campbell Cole Campbell 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Owasso | 2027 State OK was another example of a 2027 prospect starting for a defense at the highest level of competition in Oklahoma. Campbell had a really good offseason prior to his freshman year and he would earn the nod to eventually start in the secondary. We mentioned it earlier this week when talking about another Owasso freshman on this Ram defense but we love what they bring back on that side of the ball. They have young talent that seems like it’s only a matter of time before they have their breakout moment. Campbell impressed us last spring and fall and we’re looking forward to seeing more of him this offseason during the 7v7 circuit.

Owasso has two players on this breakdown so the future is bright for the Rams and specifically on the defensive side of the ball. Freshman defensive back Cole Campbell Cole Campbell 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Owasso | 2027 State OK was a breakout player for the Rams this season in the secondary. He eventually earned a starting role and was considered one of their top young prospects. Campbell is a fantastic athlete and it’s not a surprise that the Rams found a way to get him on the field throughout the 2023 football season. Campbell is also a standout on the baseball field and has legit track speed. It’s going to be fun to watch him develop over the next few seasons with the Rams.

Owasso has a few prospects in the 2027 class to keep an eye on moving forward and specifically on the defensive side of the ball. Cole Campbell Cole Campbell 6'0" | 165 lbs | DB Owasso | 2027 State OK is a defensive back prospect that has emerged at the safety position for the Rams. He’s jumped into the starting lineup and has been making an impact right away. Campbell is also a standout on the baseball diamond and on the track. He’s showed off that track speed multiple times this season. The Owasso coaches are very excited about his potential moving forward. He started off strong at the JV and freshman level and has elevated his game enough to make an impact at the varsity level this season.

With a big time performance for the Sooner7 14u team earlier this year, Cole proved why his name should be on the list. With his pure athleticism and body control, Cole plays a major role for his team in a variety of different areas. With his recent explosion to the top of the class of 2027, Cole is another young athlete to be excited about as we head into the upcoming 2023 football season.

AL Pops: Campbell earned a Top Performer nod at the Sooner Shootout and also solidified a spot on the 2027 PRZ Next National Watchlist at the same time. Campbell displayed unbelievable body control and overall awareness throughout the weekend for the Sooner7 14U team, making several nice grabs from what I’m told by scouts on the ground. Campbell was on my list of “wait and see” in regards to the National Watchlist ahead of the weekend but he played himself right off there quickly. This past season he was named Player of the Year for an absolutely loaded Stillwater Junior High team, that also had fellow 2027 PRZ Next National Watchlist athletes Bradford Mitchell Bradford Mitchell 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Stillwater | 2027 State OK and Deakon Jones Deakon Jones 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Stillwater | 2027 State OK on it. His cousin and Sooner7 teammate Peyton Campbell was the team’s Quarterback. Cole shined as a Safety for the Pioneers this past season and played a big part in them winning a conference title.
