Longstreet was the only player to get invited to the Elite 11 Finals this summer and it’s obvious to see why.
His hands are massive and he throws harder than anybody in the class. Longstreet was fourth in the accuracy contest and excelled in the drills I saw him in.
Longstreet is set to commit on April 14.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Bachmeier has one of the best arms in the class and is a very good athlete.
There was a redzone passing drill where the quarterbacks had to roll to their right between cones and hit a receiver in certain parts of the endzone. Bachmeier’s ball placement shined in that drill and showed he can make strong throws in less than ideal situations.
A scout I talked to hadn’t seen a lot of Beierly and said he was excited to see the new Mater Dei quarterback. Beierly impressed that scout and did just about everything well.
He didn’t throw the hardest, but he did just about everything well, particularly his accuracy and smoothness. Beierly was the top SPARQ tester of the event and is a great athlete.
Highlights
Kollock passes the eye test when you see him and looks like a college quarterback already.
A coach I talked to praised Kollock’s footwork in one of the drills and he uses his body to drive the ball down the field.
Kollock is uncommitted after withdrawing from Washington in January.
Highlights
Lateef won the accuracy challenge and I wouldn’t be surprised if he got a late invite to the finals in the summer.
He was consistently good in every drill and looks like he’s put on some muscle since the fall. His throwing motion is smooth and the ball comes out of his hand nicely.
Horton was one of a handful of solid Arizona quarterbacks at the event and his ball placement was excellent in the later drills.
He had one of the better throws of the day rolling to his right and hitting a receiver perfectly in the far corner of the endzone. His release is quick and he seemed to enjoy competing with other top quarterbacks.
Highlights
Modrzewski is long, athletic and was in the top 10 in both the accuracy challenge and the SPARQ testing.
He moves fluidly, has plus arm strength and plays with confidence. It’s easy to see why he is the top overall recruit in Colorado.
Highlights
Niu’s delivery is smooth and his footwork was getting good reviews from the coaches in the drills.
He seemed comfortable in multiple drop backs and different footwork techniques. Niu always hit receivers in stride and he seemed to be proud to represent Utah among other top quarterbacks.
Pizzella looked really athletic in the speed drills and had one of the best motors in the camp.
He treated every rep like it was crunch time in a big game. Coaches loved his work ethic and he placed the ball well in accuracy drills and redzone drills.
Once again Tollefson shined in a camp setting. He was one of the better athletes at the event and ran the fastest 40-yard dash in his group.
The ball jumps out of his hand and he seemed comfortable making all the throws. He had an up and down season at JSerra as a junior, but seeing him in camp settings reminds people why he is so highly-regarded.
