threw a performance that should have been illegal. He went 20/22 for 366 yards, hitting an otherworldly 90.9% of his passes. He didn’t stop there, though. Austyn threw a ridiculous eight touchdowns and posted a jaw-dropping QB rating of 169.9. He single-handedly dismantled Erie’s defense with an efficiency and precision that will be hard to match. It’s a dominant performance that’ll be hard for anyone to top ever.

Not only was he the best in the state at Quarterback this year for Mountain Vista, but he was in the Christmas spirit when he got in his Santa bag versus Valor Christian. Austyn went 22 of 25 in completions for a season-high 425 yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Modrzewski balled out for his high school finale. The senior went 25/34 for 303 yards, 5 touchdowns, 2 INT, 6 carries for 63 yards and 1 touchdown. His very good athletic ability was on full display. He has very good speed, acceleration, combined with good change of direction. Modrzewski even made a defensive lineman miss with a juke move. Modrzewski used his very good throw power to find open receivers all night long. He has elite ball placement, throwing the ball where it needs to be depending on the situation. Austyn’s accuracy was showcased throughout. Under pressure, he went through his progressions finding the open man. If no one was open, he’d use his legs to gain the first down. There were a couple of plays that really stood out to me. On 4th and 6th, down 13-0, Modrzewski completed a side arm through to his wide receiver for the first down. Another example included a botched snap/fumble, Austyn stayed poised and found Jakhai Mack Jakhai Mack WR Mountain Vista | 2025 State CO for a big gain. Modrzewski broke tons of CHSAA records this season and cemented his name as the top quarterback in Colorado as he bows out to the South Dakota Coyotes next fall.

. The senior measures in at 6’5 198 pounds, and is currently touted as the best QB in Colorado. He certainly lived up to the expectations throwing for 252 yards on 14/27 with 4 touchdowns and 1 interception. He showcased his elite ball placement throughout the game. Leading his wide receiver to the ball, putting it right on the money, or throwing it in stride for his WR for a big gain. He has a cannon on an arm, paired with a very good zippy release. Very good accuracy at all 3 levels. Modrzewski has elite pocket presence by staying consistently poised against the blitz. He’d go through his reads and find the open man or if no one was there, just check it down. One play that really stood out to me was when he was rolling out left, re-adjusted with 3 defenders in his face and threw a bomb for a 40-yard touchdown. The play unfortunately got called back, however it showed who Austyn is as a player. Phenomenal prospect deserving of that top spot in Colorado.

Modrzewski put on a show in week 0, proving exactly why he’s the reigning Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year. He was nearly flawless, completing 16 of 21 passes for a jaw-dropping 338 yards and 6 touchdowns, with just 1 INT. His ability to light it up through the air was on full display as he dissected the opposing defense, spreading the ball around and finding the end zone with ease. He not only set the tone for the season but reminded everyone how explosive this team can be.

You’ve probably heard of Modrzewski by now. He’s been popping up in our articles over the season, and with good reason. Austyn has the prototypical QB size at 6’5″ 190 pounds. Over the season, he threw for 3675 yards, 41 TDs and 7 interceptions with a completion rate of 70.3%. He ran 47 times for 180 yards and 4 touchdowns. He led all 5A quarterbacks in yardage and touchdowns. Modrzewski has a cannon for a arm. He uses that in tandem with his good accuracy at all levels, to pick apart and slice up defenses. Shows poise in the pocket. When he’s pressured he stays cool and demonstrates good mental processing by choosing the correct read, and making the play. Keeps his eyes downfield to find open receivers. One of the top tier QBs that Colorado has to offer.

Modrzewski was able to show his connection with his receiver in 1 on 1s and when it got to 3 vs 3 he was able to show his arm strength with the ball jumping out of his hand. He was accurate throughout the day, dropping dimes and walking away with MVP for QBs.

Once again, Mr. Modrzewski is on an absolute tear. When it is all said and done, the biggest reason why Mountain Vista could find themselves taking home a state title is due to their superstar quarterback who isn’t afraid to back down from any challenge. In Vista’s second round win over Castle View resulting in a 52-20 beatdown, the junior signal caller shredded the Sabercats for 306 yards passing while only having a total of six incompletions on the night. Did I mention he racked up three touchdowns through the air as well? Overall, Modrzewski possesses the proper arm talent, ideal size, and stellar leadership to be a difference maker at the Division-I level.

Modrzewski was able to light it up in week 6 as he threw for 451 yards and had 5 TD to go with it. He has a lot of talent around him and the line kept him clean so he was able to keep his eyes downfield and connect with his receivers. He has a strong arm and was zipping the ball out to receivers to let them make plays after the catch. He will be a prospect that continues to draw a lot of interest.
