McChesney dominated during the competition. The trenches were full of top tier players. McChesney rose above and dominated during both the individual period and during the competition period. He maintains his low pad level due to his flexibility and very good knee bend. Very controlled footwork. Very good body control and balance. Great snap to block speed. He has very good initial quickness out of his stance. Uses his very good hand speed to lock onto the defender. Elite hand placement, very good hand strength, and strength. He controlled his opponents at will. Neutralizing pass rush moves with his technique. He has a stout anchor and at points would not be moved. McChesney showed how competitive he is throughout the drills. Giving maximum effort and wanting multiple reps. I was ecstatic to see how he dominated during the competition. Watch out for Nick McChesney.

A freshman with immense potential, McChesney made a strong impression in his limited varsity snaps on the offensive line. His excellent footwork allows him to execute a smooth kick slide in pass protection, staying in front of his matchup with a combination of quickness and strength. In the run game, he creates lanes effectively, using his power to drive defenders to the ground. As he continues to develop, expect McChesney to make a significant impact next season. I boldly predict he will earn First or Second Team All-State honors, cementing his status as a top lineman. With his trajectory, he is poised to draw serious interest from Division I programs.

Known for his strong footwork and power, McChesney has shown the ability to put defenders on their backs, paving the way for his team’s rushing attack. His strength in combo blocks and understanding of positioning has allowed him to create consistent running lanes. Even as a freshman, McChesney has demonstrated maturity and physicality beyond his years, handling varsity-level competition with confidence. His performance thus far has set a high bar, making him a player to know moving forwards.

is a two-way lineman that is going to be a very good one over the next four years. McChesney is the son of former Colorado Buffalo and five-year NFL/NFL Europe vet Matt McChesney and the apple certainly doesn’t fall far from the tree, here. After the snap, Nicholas’s first step is as quick as I’ve seen in the country for an interior defensive lineman. He shoots his hands and makes first contact with his opponents chest, which often results in winning the play/rep. I feel he has future D1 defensive tackle written all over him, but just like as his Dad did in the NFL, a switch to offensive guard can’t be ruled out–because he gets it done there, too.
