2027 Rankings Update: Breaking Down the Top 10 WRs

In the past he was always the #1 Ranked ATH in the 2027 class but after seeing him again at workouts this past spring I made him a WR only and he is now the #1 WR in the class. What I saw from him back in April was much improved route running and showcasing natural strong hands. A consistent deep threat option, Jamar has worked himself into a true number 1 WR option. With a nice release of the line, able to stem his routes and make quick subtle movements to create separation. He can stick his foot in the ground and make strong sharp cuts and tracks the ball extremely well with his long smooth stride. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I have been a fan of Jamar every time I've seen him live and it looks like that National Media has finally caught on after his recent performances at the Nike Opening. Unfortunately he missed last season after suffering a broken leg in game 1 for Spalding. He still comes in as the #2 overall receiver and a top 10 player because he has all the talent on the world. He just needs to get back out there this season and showcase that skill set consistently again after the injury. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An excellent elite level route runner, Myles is crisp in his footwork, can drop his weight and make strong quick cuts/change of direction. He is nimble and fluid on his feet with oily hips he is able to just slide past defenders and away from tackles. While also possessing great hands and the ability to make difficult and acrobatic catches. After a superb junior season for McDonogh posting 900 yd receiving and 10 TD receptions. With great size and leaping ability Carlos continues to be a great downfield and red zone threat. His hands continue to improve and he knows how to use his length &amp; size well to catch the ball away from his body &amp; defender. Carlos committed to Minnesota this summer and he fits the mold of big X WRs they like to use. His junior year he posted 600 receiving yards and 4 TDs on 30 receptions for a 20 ypc. He makes his return to the MD rankings coming in as the #4 WR and a top 30 overall prospect. Eli is an high level down field threat. With great speed, burst off the LOS and quick twitch hips/feet, he is able to make big plays down the field. For his junior season he compiled over 700 receiving yard and 7 TDs for McNamara. Xavier has outstanding speed (10.98 100M) and burst to go with a muscled up 6'1" frame. A smooth fluid WR, Xavier has strong hands and will go up and snatch the ball out of the air. He has great technique and knows how to make big impact plays. He comes in as the #6 WR and moved up once in again in the rankings, this time 10 spots up to #52. He has plenty of potential to continue rising up the rankings and is an under valued recruit currently in my mind. I recently broke down Joziah's skill set after he picked up his first P4 offer from Syracuse:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"Standing 6'2+" with a long well slapped together frame, Joziah passes the eye ball test. He plays with a smooth long stride, and able to get vertical making him a good deep ball receiver. Joziah routinely comes up with big downfield impact plays. He sees the ball well and can make adjustments to it in the air to put himself in position for the catch. He is a player I have seen live in game multiple times and has been a stand out performer every time. For the 2025 season Korey had over 500 receiving yards &amp; 7 TDs on just 14 catches, equalling out a 30.9 Avg ypc.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">A long lean body WR with a smooth stride, Korey comes off the snap with nice acceleration. He gets on top of the DB and will push vertical to make big catches down the field. Also displays the ability to track the ball well while having nice natural hands. Korey is a track athlete as well, competing in the high jump and triple jump. Overall Korey is a big play WR for Howard Tech (DE) and he should continue that this upcoming fall. He holds 3 total offers from Syracuse, Del State and Morgan State. He comes in as the #8 overall WR while also being one of the most productive wide receiverL playmakers in the state last fall. Last season he put up over 1,200 yards and 18 TD on only 38 receptions for a staggering 31.7 avg ypc. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An athlete with legit speed, he runs a reported 10.69 100M in track and it shows on the football field. Jadereon is an explosive and dynamic player. He showcases excellent twitch and burst, both in his route running and after the catch. A versatile WR, he can line up in the slot and is a plus playmaker in the jet sweep &amp; screen game. He also plays bigger than his size which is why I feel he is still and under valued prospect by the colleges. A player I saw the spring before his junior year and in an early scrimmage and he certainly stood out with his ability. However, I needed to see more in game action to really be sold on him as a prospect and he delivered this past fall. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A big body, long frame receiver who can make plays across all 3 levels of the passing game. With a long stride, Dennis can glide past DBs for big plays down the field. He has excellent ball skills, tracking it and able to make difficult athletic catches. Dennis had a strong spring/summer in his recruitment, picking up offers from Syracuse, Minnesota, FAU and Del State. He is a top 100 overall player in the #10 WR in the class. He's got nice length for his frame and a strong overall athlete. A versatile WR, he mainly plays out wide but can line up in the slot as well. Effective across all 3 levels and is capable of getting over the top of defenses as well as making big plays after the catch. With nice burst and quickness of the snap, Aidan has quick COD ability. Able to get up to top speed in just a few strides and get on top of the DB.
