About Xavier
Expert Analysis
Vic Castillo | Prep Redzone Scout
- 6’2, 175 pounds. Currently ranked as the fifth best senior wideout in Maryland via my colleague Todd Haldis. 10.98 100M time, showed off said speed in person.
- Witnessed a few observable traits out of Wake Forest commit and Bishop McNamara senior

. First thing that immediately jumped out at me was his ability to create space early and late, without being dependent on scheme or sets to get him open. Fantastic strider who can eat up space with a few strides and separate the same way. On the smooth end of the wideout spectrum, nothing he does on the field looks like it takes any effort. This was my first time watching him work in person, I saw no route tree limitations. He’s equally convincing before the break, even when he isn’t supposed to be getting the football. Instinctively works back toward the QB, can thrive in tandem with a QB who is extending the play. Unreal awareness, not just of the ball and his own body, but awareness of the sidelines, defensive alignment, this is a college-football ready prospect from that perspective.
- Wake Forest currently has 5 wide out commits as of day of writing, Brown joining North Carolina seniors Fletcher and Ross, with Brown arguably standing as the crown jewel for Dickert’s program.

Xavier has been a top 5 WR prospect in the MD 2027 class for a while now and he stays in the realm coming in as the #5 overall WR in these latest rankings. For his junior season he compiled over 700 receiving yard and 7 TDs for McNamara. Xavier has outstanding speed (10.98 100M) and burst to go with a muscled up 6’1″ frame. A smooth fluid WR, Xavier has strong hands and will go up and snatch the ball out of the air. He has great technique and knows how to make big impact plays. He will be taking his talent to Wake Forest after next fall and I see that as a perfect spot for him to be able to step in early and be a key contributor.

Xavier is a player I am very high on and expect him to have a breakout campaign this season. He ranks as the #3 WR in the 2027 class and holds two Power 4 offers. Xavier continues to grow and is now standing at 6’1″ up from 5’11” last season. A smooth fluid WR, Xavier has strong hands and will go up and snatch the ball out of the air. He posses good body control, tracks and finds the ball well and puts himself in the right spots to make the play. Xavier should be a big time playmaker this year as defenses would be able to double team either him or Jayden in the passing game.

Brown currently has offers from Delaware State, Syracuse, Toledo, and the University of Maryland.
I previously said this about him:
Brown is a receiver who shows a lot of toughness in his highlights. There are a couple of plays where he makes contested catches across the middle. He’s a versatile receiver who can make plays from the x, y, and z positions. Brown is also an effective blocker in the run game. He is a reliable target for short-to-medium routes.
What I’m looking to see from him this upcoming season: My observation is based on his end-of-season highlights, which were released in mid-November. From the looks of it, he’s improved and shown enough to earn four Division I offers since then. One thing I will stand on is wanting to see even more explosive plays in his film. Granted, that’s not totally up to him as far as how the passes are delivered to him. Something tells me that he’ll turn his game up a notch or two this upcoming season.
