The Queen City Senior Bowl honors 80 of the top seniors in the Charlotte Metro Area. Prep Redzone North Carolina takes a look at a hypothetical "704 Junior Bowl" - players that had a strong junior season that would be considered for a selection if such a game existed in the Charlotte Metro Area. In Year 1 of this series, I went ahead and selected who would be on my Junior Bowl team. This year, I am going to give you a list of candidates for consideration, then we'll do a final release of the full team once all position candidates have been released. So, let's take a look at our quarterback candidates for selection.

**For full transparency, the 704 Junior Bowl will consider players from the following counties: Cleveland, Gaston, Mecklenburg, Iredell, Cabarrus, and Union counties.**

Jamouri comes off another strong season for the Lions, leading them to the 8A Western Regional Final. His accuracy, dual-threat ability, and overall football intelligence are major pluses for him for inclusion on this potential Junior Bowl team. He will have a new head coach this upcoming season, though, and it is always interesting to see how that will mesh going into his senior year. But he's our #2 quarterback in this class in the state for a reason, which you see when you look at his film.

Throwing for nearly 2500 yards and 19 touchdowns, while rushing for over 500 yards, Jared had a very strong junior year for a Patriots team that made it to the very tough 7A Western Semifinals. I was impressed with the growth in Jared's game in a major step up in competition from his sophomore year at West Cabarrus. His trajectory is all pointing upwards, and college football programs should take notice of that. His timing, accuracy, and decision-making are all much improved in my opinion. Being named a team captain is a reflection of his leadership, and I'm excited to see what he does in his senior year. He's a strong contender for this 704 Junior Bowl team.

A state-championship quarterback is almost a no-brainer for inclusion on our 704 Junior Bowl team. Ethan took the questions people had at the beginning of the season about him leading a talented Huskies program and flushed them down the toilet. His dual-threat ability week in and week out made highlight plays for the Hough offense look routine. Ethan's propensity to come through in clutch situations against tough opponents was something fun to watch, most notably in Week 1 against a South Carolina state champion in South Pointe at Bank of America Stadium. Ethan is getting Division 1 offers now and deservedly so.

Coming into the Mustangs program from Rocky River, I wasn't sure what to expect from Ramir. However, he won the starting job in the preseason and proceeded to lead the Mustangs to the 3rd round of the state playoffs. Ramir has a strong arm, and he's not scared of the moment. He stood in and took the heat in some big games and made some impressive throws. I think physically, Ramir has the tools to be a very good quarterback next year. If he's able to become consistent then he's going to be one of the best quarterbacks in Charlotte. That being said, he's plenty good right now for consideration for this 704 Junior Bowl.

[player_tooltip player_id='738731' first='AJ' last='McClain'] is a winner at the quarterback position; that's the best thing I can say about him. I've written about him a couple of times recently, and he's been the guy who's been behind center in this program turnaround Ashbrook has had the past couple of years. He's a dual-threat player, and he makes some excellent decisions with his reads in both the running game and the passing game. AJ plays multiple sports, and I like his leadership intangibles as well. He doesn't make a lot of mistakes with the football, and he can make game-winning plays with the game on the line.

I tell people all the time that Aury is probably the best quarterback you don't really know because he's outside of Charlotte, up in the Concord area at JM Robinson. He's a dynamic dual-threat player who excels in both zone read and RPO offensive schemes. It is fun to watch him consistently make the right decision in those schemes on film. Aury has very good speed and has nice accuracy throwing the football to all levels of the field. He's a strong candidate for this 704 Junior Bowl team.

If you built a quarterback in a lab physically, you would probably get someone close to Hudson. He's got the size you want in a major prospect, along with the arm strength. NW Cabarrus last season had a punishing running game, so Hudson made the most of his opportunities when he got them last season. I think he still has a high ceiling to reach as a prospect, and if you were doing a futures bet on a player out of this group, he might end up having the biggest potential out of everyone on this list because of those traits.

Atodrick, or AJ, had a great season last year as a dual-threat player from the quarterback position. AJ has some nice agility and vision as a runner, as well as the speed to run away from you in the open field. As a passer, AJ makes the right decision more times than not, and has the special ability to put a team on his back on any given Friday Night. The biggest thing I love flat out about AJ is his production - he's probably one of top producing quarterbacks in terms of yardage and touchdowns in the state last season. That merits some serious consideration for the 704 Junior Bowl team.

It is rare that a quarterback throws for nearly 2000 yards and 14 touchdowns, and you consider him an under-the-radar prospect. But that's the case here with Cameron, as the talented quarterbacks in this area are in large numbers in the 2027 class. First off, the size is what you really like at 6'3 and 195 pounds. Cameron has impressive arm strength, and the ball comes off his hands in an impressive fashion. He's got some nice placement on the deep ball and some good overall fundamentals in the pocket. I think he's poised to have an even bigger year statistically next season.

Cole broke out in an impressive fashion this past season for the Pumas, helping lead them to the 2nd round of the state playoffs in his first full year as a starting quarterback. Cole made some impressive throws in some pressure-packed situations and showed the ability to improvise when things broke down around him. I like his confidence in his arm, and he's got some ability to run and make things happen on both scrambles and in the designed quarterback run game. I'm excited to see what he has in store for his senior season.

Troy had a nice season for Latin, guiding them to a 7-0 start and a home playoff game in the 1st round, something that Latin hasn't experienced in a few years. Throwing for nearly 2000 yards and 23 touchdowns, production was not an issue for Troy at all. He's gotten better every year as a starting quarterback, and it's no coincidence the Hawks have had a nice turnaround as a team with him as their starter. I'm excited to see what he does to follow this strong year up for his upcoming senior year.

Throwing for over 2600 yards and 26 touchdowns, Ty played in an offense that was a quarterback's dream - he was able to show off his arm to all areas of the field on a variety of routes and concepts. Coming over from Hopewell, Ty really got to show all of the things that make him a player that coaches want to build their offense around. An All-Conference selection, Ty doesn't have a ton of recruiting interest around him at the moment, but a strong offseason, I think, will start to change that narrative a good bit.

Luke started this season as a talented backup quarterback, but a few games into the year, he was placed in as the permanent starter, and he showed some impressive stuff, helping lead Providence to a conference championship and a first-round victory over their big rivals. Luke is smart with the football and has a nice arm, stronger than you would assume at first glance. I really like his ball placement, and his teammates love playing for him - that's the biggest intangible a quarterback can have in my opinion. I'm excited to see what he does coming into his senior year, and he's more than deserving of consideration on this 704 Junior Bowl team.
