The 2025 Minnesota state semifinals held at U.S. Bank Stadium somehow exceeded expectations in terms of excitement. Kicking off with the walk-off overtime thriller between Orono and Marshall, the three day prep football extravaganza saw three one-point finishes, one two-point difference, one three-point difference, two one-TD finishes, a nearly 100% onside kick success rate, and a comeback by Edina in which they were down as much as 35-7, just to name a few of the highlights. Between the 14 games and 28 semifinalists, we saw some unbelievable individual efforts in all three phases of the world's greatest game, and PrepRedzoneMN has your no-nonsense, prospect-driven, analysis-heavy, most comprehensive roundup of the top performers from all 28 games all jammed into one loaded All-State Semifinal Team. The massive Chicago Blackhawks First Round Draft Pick was evading pressure especially well at U.S. Bank Stadium, and dare I say, the log cabin of a QB looked fast while running away from Minnetonka's defense. Was throwing an especially good ball on the move, displayed very impressive touch throughout the four quarters of action, and was improvising and taking advantage when things broke down better than anyone I've seen on the Big School's Big Stage. The big-time senior 9man QB played with a chip on his shoulder and like he had something to prove, rarely making a mistake and putting the team on his back through four quarters of action against a talented KCC opponent. Calm, cool, and collected in and outside of the pocket, Swedberg was accurate, on time, and was really spreading the ball around. He also proved himself to be a dangerous ball carrier with some electric footwork and elusiveness in the open field. People weren't/aren't talking about Swedberg in the 9Man QB race in 2025.

Arm talent flashed early and often in the 6A state semifinal against Edina. Beautifully-timed deep balls were on the money all four quarters at U.S. Bank Stadium, and he was putting deeper, much more challenging throws on an absolute rope throughout the ball game. Ball placement, timing, and arm strength were all present in droves. I found myself especially impressed with Gutzmer's footwork throughout the game, both when evading pressure in and outside of the pocket.

Outstanding vision, one of the smoothest cutters and ball carriers I've seen in Minnesota, and the burst was really challenging a talented Edina defense. Kid's tough as nails too. Four years of hits were weighing down on him at U.S. Bank Stadium and the kid couldn't stop fighting.

Was all over the field for all four quarters of the 5A semifinal against Spring Lake Park. Big play machine as you can tell by the over 10 YPC average. One of the best RBs of the entire weekend. Stelter showed off great burst, noticeable power as a North-South runner who could get downhill quickly, and great vision. Stelter did a great job of making something out of nothing, in large part thanks to his quick feet and ability to see and anticipate the hole, and his lateral quickness at his size, combined with his effective stiff-arm, broke more than his fair share of tackle attempts on the evening.

Strong lower body for his size, which aided both his burst and his contact balance.

The breakout star of Edina's 2025 campaign, as well as one of the breakout stars of the entire season, Stephenson was a deep ball, contested catch machine at U.S. Bank Stadium against Minnetonka. Stephenson caught a couple 50/50 balls right on top of the heads of helpless Skippers DBs, and he was a vertical, big play threat every time [player_tooltip player_id='592125' first='Mason' last='West'] dropped back to pass.

One of the largest and most imposing players from the semifinal round of the 2025 playoffs, Lhotka, a MSUM Dragons commit, would start on any team playing at U.S. Bank Stadium this past Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. Looked like a college player on the turf of the Vikings, with quick feet, good vision, and a truck stick that could send defenders aside like they tried to run into traffic. Could easily run through weaker tackle attempts and mentally challenged even the stingiest of Minneota's vaunted defense.
