In a Minnesota 2026 class that will go down as possessing some of the most decorated multi-sport athletes in recent memory – shoutout Mason West Mason West 6'6" | 220 lbs | QB Edina | 2026 State MN and Jayden Moore Jayden Moore 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Hopkins | 2026 State MN – Edina’s Chase Bjorgaard Chase Bjorgaard 6'0" | 215 lbs | RB Edina | 2026 State MN will still go down as one of the best of the bunch. The F150 of a RB cemented his name in Minnesota Prep Bowl history after his 6 TD, 320-yard rushing, and nearly 350 all-purpose yard state championship performance to overtake Moorhead in the 2025 Class 6A state final in dazzling fashion, but Bjorgaard is also quite the hockey player – acting as Edina’s goalie on their heavyweight varsity hockey team – as well as a decorated baseball player with both Edina and SelectsBaseball. Power, finesse, vision, utility, and toughness, Bjorgaard was one of the biggest stock risers and breakout stars from the electric 2025 prep football season in Minnesota. Whatever sport, where he lands, Bjorgaard’s high school career at Edina will not be forgotten anytime soon.

Bjorgaard ran for 181 yards and a touchdown in Edina’s opener, setting the tone with a 59-yard score on the second play of the game. On the run, he showed patience behind his line before making a decisive one-cut at the second level and outrunning the secondary to the end zone. At 210 pounds, Bjorgaard runs with power and balance, bouncing off tacklers while keeping his feet. He combines vision, quickness, and physicality with a downhill style that wears on defenses. He has the speed to beat defenders to the corner, but does his best work between the tackles, finishing runs with force. Bjorgaard brings a tough, physical element to the Edina backfield and profiles as a reliable inside runner with the ability to generate explosive plays when he finds daylight.

Bjorgaard is a great compliment of power and balance. He has good speed and can run through tackles or make a full-speed cut to force defenders to miss or at least take a bad angle. He is best when he can get going downhill, but his subtle footwork in the open field allows him to keep defenders off balance. Mostly a between-the-tackles runner, Bjorgaard does have the speed to beat defenders to the corner. As a goalie, the junior has a .938 save percentage and has a 9-0-1 record for the Section 6 2A champions.

With one of the deepest athletic resumes in Class 6A, Edina Hornet 6′, 210 lb. junior is a heckuva multi-sport athlete, playing goalie for the Hornet’s decorated prep hockey team (5 games played in 2024, 1.40 GAA, .950 SV%, 5-0 record), as well as a heckuva baseball player who is on the MN All-Star team and has earned regional and national recognition as well. As they say, hockey goalies can be a little bit crazy, and that’s exactly what I want out of a hard-charging RB standing at 6′, 210 pounds. Bjorgaard posted 206 carries for 1,164 yards and 10 TDs for the state quarterfinalist Hornets in 2024, great numbers against MN Big School competition, and was an impressive ball carrier when PRzMN got to see #21 tote the rock. The 210 pounds serve him well, as he bounces would-be tacklers off him like a pinball machine while showing off a patient running style that includes clear vision, quickness, and a ton of physicality and fight. Sadly, the junior doesn’t have any updated junior tape available, but you don’t need to see any film to recognize that this kind of athletic resume doesn’t come around very often. We’ll see where and what this dude plays in college soon enough!
