About Will

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a poised, competitive quarterback who leads with a strong football IQ and accuracy. I stay composed under pressure, read defenses well, and make quick decisions to keep drives moving. Whether extending plays with my feet or delivering from the pocket, I focus on executing efficiently and elevating the players around me.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I pride myself on being disciplined, coachable, and relentlessly competitive. I stay calm in tough situations, focus on constant improvement, and put the team first. I’m driven to prepare, learn, and do whatever it takes to earn trust and lead by example on and off the field.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Outside of football, I’m a multi-sport athlete who plays basketball, and I also started my own lawncare business in the summer of 2025. I grew it to 12 regular accounts, which taught me responsibility, time management, and how to communicate with customers.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed leadership and teamwork skills by playing quarterback, where communication, accountability, and trust are essential. Running my lawncare business taught me responsibility, time management, and professionalism. Being part of sports and my community youth associations has helped me learn how to work with others, give back, stay disciplined, and show respect on and off the field.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I haven’t faced major hardships in my life, and I’m grateful for the support and opportunities I’ve been given. I don’t take any of it for granted. I have big goals, & I focus on earning them through daily hard work, discipline, & consistency. I know adversity will come at some point in sports & in life, and when it does, I’m prepared to confront it head-on & learn from it rather than shy away.

What type of college are you looking for?

I have goals of playing at a high level, & I’m working toward competing for opportunities at big D1 programs. At the same time, I understand that the right fit matters, & I want to be somewhere I can grow, compete, and get on the field whether that’s D1, D2, or D3. Ultimately, I want a school where I can develop as a quarterback, earn playing time, & enjoy the college & life experience.

One of the more intriguing quarterbacks in the freshmen class last Saturday from a measurables perspective was Edina 2029 quarterback Will Grunnet Will Grunnet Will Grunnet 6'0" | 195 lbs | QB Edina | 2029 MN . The 5’11 198 pounder for the Hornets in my eyes probably isn’t done growing yet, as his wingspan stretched to 6’2.5. He brought some of the more powerful arm strength from this 2029 QB group and not only was that a skillset that I caught onto right away, but he was also accurate with his ball placement with his receivers to get the ball upfield and could make throws from muliple levels. The southpaw was also more efficent than you might expect for his age at getting the ball out throwing from the run.

A 2029 QB talent out of the defending Big School state champions Edina, lefty Will Grunnet Will Grunnet Will Grunnet 6'0" | 195 lbs | QB Edina | 2029 MN is in serious contention for the Hornets QB1 spot in 2026. A lefty with footwork, mechanics, and noticeable arm talent, Grunnet was accurate from both traditional and off-platform throwing angles, and he could stretch the field well for a QB of his size and age. With a good frame that looks built to potentially eat and work through hits and pressure from 6A defenders, Grunnet showed up well during competition thanks to his accuracy and comfortability with the route tree. I’l be eagerly watching the Hornets‘ QB room going into the fall.
