Technically not our first evaluation or look at DGF’s Michael Whitney Michael Whitney 6'3" | 195 lbs | TE/WR Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton | 2027 State MN , but it was PRZMN’s first time seeing the long, rangy future LB (need to update his position on the Big Board) in pads and in a physical, competitive setting. Whitney showed off some noteworthy tools and traits that would lend one to think he could really hit his stride at the college level. Good showing in every phase of UND’s first Flagship Camp of the summer that was impressing in a variety of ways and was impressing both the coaching staffs in attendance and UND’s players throughout the day. Picked off some passes during 1v1s to highlight his dynamic, three-down ability from the LB position, and his change of direction ability was impressive and effective at a verified 6’3, 195 pounds. Also proved he could flip his hips, was laterally agile, and overall rangy and covered ground in his movements, not to mention quick. I’d keep an eye on some local DIIs in this up-and-coming LB’s recruitment.

The 6’2 195 pouinder ran a 4.84 in the 40 yard dash, 4.65 in the pro agility, and to me the most eye catching number from the testing period, his 9’5 broad jump which shows the explosives Michael has at his size. That explosiveness was noted in agility drills, as Michael was one of the top performers in the Triple Jump. There’s a lot of position flexibility options for this kid and tight end looks like a good fit for an upside perspective with a frame to grow into for Michael.

A new name to the PRZMN radar, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton always seems to have some big, athletic, eye-catching bodies and frames on their rosters year to year. A 2027 installment of this trend is Michael Whitney, a tall, long, lean, and now-verified 6’2.5″, 194 lbs., with a 80″ wingspan and 9.25″ hands who popped off a 4.9 laser-verified 40, a 4.55 shuttle, 7.10 L-drill, and 8’10” broad jump, an exciting combination of size and tools that could really wake waves at the next level. Additionally, Whitney was tough and strong at the catch point, flashed a big catch radius, and earned some 50/50 and contested catch wins throughout the afternoon. There’s some tools there for wideout, but honestly, it’s hard not to think about his upside and ceiling being higher at linebacker. Either way, a fun ball of clay to work with out of DGF.

During the 1-on-1 sessions, Whitney matched that profile as a long and physical receiver, showing strong release off the ball, constantly pumping his arms, and showcasing sneaky footwork in his route running, while using that length to nab passes with ease in comparison of other receivers that may need to outstretch their arms for the catch. Whitney could develop more on his speed over the course of the offseason, but even playing for a more run-heavy offense he’s building a case for a larger share of targets heading his way entering his senior campaign.
