We circle back to wrap up our content from the Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase from a couple of Saturdays ago already this time locking in on the live evaluations we got out of this wide receiver group. Man, did we come out impressed with the speed and agility out out of this group, as this wide receiver group boosted the fastest 40 yard dash, and the best L-drill. We saw the top-tier wide receivers early and felt they would finish in the top group, and they surely showed why we thought that from the jump!

One of the youngest prospects I had on my radar amongst this wide receiver room, hailed from Park of Cottage and 2029 WR [player_tooltip player_id='2169766' first='Colton' last='Slaikeu']. During 1v1 reps, Colton showed off hands that you wouldn't quite expect out of a 2029 prospect, as he brought the ball into a tight window and what intrigued me even more was how he was able to finish thru that contact in those later reps on couple occasions, showing that there surely is upside and hopefully more size brewing for this Wolpack wide out. He ran a 4.99 40-yard dash, but the most impressive number that translated to what I saw with his reps was the 4.53 in the pro agility, as I feel Colton has plenty of time to get those numbers even lower with several seasons to go at the high school level.

A new name out of Delano that caught my attention at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase was [player_tooltip player_id='2169371' first='Max' last='Peterson'] in the 2028 class. He was one that checked my box when it came to his change of direction as a route-runner and showed off a 6.92 L-drill which was the most intriguing number of his early testing session. He was a wide receiver you could tell with the size played with a chip on his shoulder and I felt played bigger than his measurables might show off at the moment. Surely some upside that can surely get more untapped over the coming two seasons upcoming with the Tigers.

Damarius was another one that popped out via his 1v1 reps a couple Saturdays ago at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase in Plymouth. The 2027 wide receiver from St. Paul Central, displayed more twitch out of his live reps than what you might have saw during his testing session, as he showed off as a wide receiver that boosts the athleticism that still is developing his upside at the wide receiver position, as if you roll the tape on Damarius you will see him just about everywhere on both sides of the ball. What he showed off though at the wide receiver position last Saturday, shows me where his best usage could come in the Patriots offense this coming fall, as I see him as a great fit in the slot.

If you wanted to see the fastest L-drill in the building, we got a front row seat of it out of Shakopee 2028 athlete [player_tooltip player_id='2085269' first='Brooklyn' last='Prathoumthong'] a couple Saturdays ago in Plymouth. He ran a 6.73 L-drill which was best amongst the entire 160+ athletes in attendance. This young man is a burner that I wished I had watched more reps out of on Saturday, as it was evident in the early reps I caught that Brooklyn can fly down the field and get seperation especially on intermediate routes and yet, he plays on both sides of the ball for Shakopee which is even better. He's one that in my eyes, is still scratching the surface where he lines up positionally, but surely the athletic traits are trending in the right direction for Brooklyn to thrive forward in the coming years.

WR MVP

Taking the nod as our wide receiver MVP at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase was Robbinsdale Cooper 2027 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1120533' first='Erick' last='Larkins']. I got one of the earliest looks on Erick to start session 2 and even from the jump, I could tell this young man was going to be in our top-tier of wide receivers by the end of the showcase, and he surely was. Erick caught anything and everything that came his way, and repped very elusive change of direction that even the college coaches in attention catch their eyes on, as Erick got his first college football offer this week from a local Division 3 school right up the road. He played miles above his measurables and was very poised going up against the bigger cornerbacks in the second session Plymouth. 4.85 40-yard dash, 6.92 L-drill and an explosive 8'10 in the broad jump shows me that this young man is not done showing out as one that I hope to see at at a bunch of camps this summer.

Jadyn is another wide receiver from NW metro that made a big-time splash at the Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase a couple Saturdays ago out of Blaine. The 2028 wide receiver to my eyes, did not lose a rep all day and showed off continous edgy seperation in his 1v1 reps, in which I had to make the call to call him up to the 2027 group, as the young man showed off his domiance early and often and did the same, against the older competition. He's got such poised hands for his age, and a great route-tree that did all sorts of damage in Plymouth on all three levels. He's also got the big play ability to utilize his vertical in the air, which was also put on display in his reps. The fastest man in the 40-yard dash at 4.54 in the combine, 4.41 in the pro agility, 6.90 in the L-drill, and 9'1 in the broad jump. Jadyn is one that I feel the Midwest is going to know here very soon.
