Efficient and smart was the best way to describe Jamouri's game in this one. With the Lions' defense playing well, Jamouri took what was given to him in the passing game and kept the chains moving with several runs for first downs - some designed, some out of scrambling on passing plays. Jamouri was 11-15 passing for 71 yards, along with 15 carries for 65 yards and 2 touchdown runs. I spoke with Jamouri after the game.

Sincere was impressive from the start in this one, knifing through the Mustangs' defense for multiple 10+ yard runs, but he didn't get a ton of the workload once the game became out of reach for the Mustangs. Sincere has some electric speed and vision in the open field, and you kind of hold your breath when he gets the ball in his hands with some good momentum. For the game, Sincere finished with 8 carries for 92 yards and 1 touchdown run.

Jamil became a bit of a short-yardage specialist in this game, as he finished with two touchdown runs where he ran through multiple Mustangs' tackle attempts on both of them. I liked how decisive Jamil was in the running game, getting downhill immediately and being physical at the point of attack. Jamil also had some plays on defense, but his biggest impact was with the ball in his hands here. I spoke with Jamil after the game.

I've been doing this stuff for a while, and I don't know if I've seen as impressive a performance as I've seen against a high-level player. Jorquis faced off against the Mustangs' pair of talented defensive ends, and more than held his own. So much so, that a heavy percentage of the run plays in the Lions' offense were behind their big right tackle, a Lenoir-Rhyne commit to play college football. It was excellent run blocking and solid pass protection all night for Jorquis. I spoke with him after the game.

You're probably going to see Davion in both our offensive and defensive playmakers in this one, because he had a solid game on both sides of the ball for the Lions. With him playing more offense in this one, Davion had a couple of key catches on 3rd downs to keep the chains moving in the Lions' offense. His presence in the offensive formation helps keep defenses honest, and I think he's going to be a very important player going into this week's game against Hough.

Playing alongside [player_tooltip player_id='1321097' first='Jorquis' last='Broome'] on the right side, Khalil did a good job of fitting and driving on the Mustangs' defensive tackles, and West Charlotte ran behind him down on the goalline a good bit for multiple touchdown runs. Khalil showed he is an elite run blocker who excels at winning against interior defensive linemen in a straight drive-block type of scheme. I'm excited to see him continue to grow with another year of development.

Myers Park didn't get a lot going consistently in the passing game in this one, but Portis had the most juice out of their receiving core here. His blazing speed allowed the Mustangs to hit him for a 43-yard TD pass, beating two West Charlotte defensive backs in coverage. There were some other times where Chaz was open, but couldn't get the ball on him consistently. I'm excited to see what Chaz does on the next level, he can be a dangerous playmaker in space.

With 22 carries for 114 rushing yards and a touchdown run, I definitely think Josh and the Myers Park offensive line did their part in the running game to keep them on schedule offensively. For the season, Josh finished with 1390 yards rushing and 18 rushing touchdowns. He had a great senior year and really carried the load for a very good Myers Park team. I'm excited to see where he goes on the next level!
