All across the Charlotte Metro Area & beyond in Round 2 of the State Playoffs, there were big-time performances, and we're going to highlight them here with a bit of commentary tacked on as well for select players. Please make sure you are sharing your performances with me via Twitter/X @pepman704, especially if you are in the Charlotte Metro Area, to be considered for inclusion! We will have this series all year long on Prep Redzone North Carolina, and we will recognize everyone – including linemen! Stats and film will help a TON when being evaluated for inclusion! All right, let's get started.

[player_tooltip player_id='1600427' first='Lathan' last='Feemster'] - Kings Mountain - 10 Tackles, 2 Tackles For Loss, 2 Pass Breakups, and Fumble Recovery - Lathan put in a solid performance to help lead his Mountaineers to the 3rd round against a tough TC Roberson squad. Lathan continues to be the leading tackler for Kings Mountain, and he will have to be at his best for them to pull off another road victory against Northern Guilford this Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1321007' first='Jamouri' last='Nichols'] - West Charlotte - 177 Total Yards and 3 Total Touchdowns - It was a steady and efficient performance for the Lions' signal caller in this one, as the Lions' defense really stole the show in this one.

[player_tooltip player_id='1144640' first='Ely' last='Hamrick'] - Crest - 256 Passing Yards, 6 Touchdown Passes, Rushing Touchdown - In One Half! - The Chargers were just flat out dominant in this one against Concord, and they're entering a huge game on Friday against a talented East Lincoln squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='1607907' first='Nick' last='Albright'] - Crest - Excellent Run Blocking and Pass Protection on the line of scrimmage! - Nick has really good size and is one of the better linemen in the Class of 2027 in the Charlotte Metro Area. Nick didn't allow upfield penetration in the passing game and did a good job of working combo blocks in the running game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1600223' first='Bryson' last='Simpkins'] - Monroe - 4 Receptions, 154 Receiving Yards, Touchdown Reception - Bryson has really come on strong in the second half of the season and in the playoffs so far for the Redhawks. He has excellent size and athleticism, and he'll need to make more big plays if they're going to beat South Point on the road on Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263702' first='Santonis' last='Wright'] - Millbrook - 12 Carries, 111 Rushing Yards, 3 Rushing Touchdowns

[player_tooltip player_id='1277021' first='Patrick' last='Blee'] - South Point - 192 Total Offensive Yards and 5 Total Touchdowns - The dual-threat, longtime leader for the Red Raiders delivered another strong performance from the quarterback spot. They will need to control the running game once again on Friday to keep an explosive Monroe offense on the sidelines.

[player_tooltip player_id='1593034' first='Jadarius' last='McCombs'] - Mooresville - 23 Carries, 163 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing Touchdown, 47 Receiving Yards - 210 Total Offensive Yards - J-Man is saving his best performances so far this season for the playoffs, and in this one, he showed he can carry a heavy load in the Blue Devils' offense. That's going to be very important as they get ready to face a strong run team in Reagan this Friday, where possessions are going to be at a premium.

Jalen Fletcher-Mclean - East Lincoln - 6 Carries, 125 Rushing Yards, 4 Rushing Touchdowns - 21 Yards Per Carry Average!

[player_tooltip player_id='1127879' first='Charlie' last='Griffin'] - Northern Guilford - 5 Tackles, 2 Tackles For Loss, 2 Sacks, and a Forced Fumble - I think Northern Guilford doesn't get a lot of attention as a #2 seed, but they are really good. Charlie is a talented defensive lineman who shows some good hand usage at the line of scrimmage and nice closing speed for his size to make tackles and sacks in the offensive backfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='1321326' first='Jace' last='Goodwin'] - Providence Day - 5 Quarterback Sacks! Plus 7 Tackles and 2 QB Hurries - Jace has really turned it up for the playoffs, and is showing off his excellent pass-rushing skills from his defensive line position. The Chargers are playing for another state championship on Friday Night against their rival in Charlotte Christian, and the Chargers defense will have its hands full.

[player_tooltip player_id='1044292' first='Skylar' last='Alston'] - Cardinal Gibbons - 12 Total Tackles with 5 Tackles For Loss

[player_tooltip player_id='1600209' first='Raishawn' last='Elmore'] - Porter Ridge - INCREDIBLE CATCH for Touchdown, 120 Receiving Yards - Raishawn has gone viral all across the nation with his incredible one-handed catch in the 4th quarter last week against Richmond County in the playoffs. The play is so unbelievable that the first time you see it, you won't believe it's real. Although Porter Ridge lost a tough one, Raishawn recently de-committed from East Carolina and is probably primed for some more offers to come his way sooner than later. Here's the catch:

Evan Hodges - Richmond Senior - 25-33 for 339 Passing Yards and 2 Passing Touchdowns

[player_tooltip player_id='254550' first='Ethan' last='Royal'] - Hough - 197 Passing Yards, 3 Passing Touchdowns, Plus 65 Rushing Yards and Rushing Touchdown - Ethan led the Huskies to an incredibly dominant win over a good Palisades team with probably the most perfect half of offensive football you'll ever see: 8 possessions led to 8 first-half touchdowns. The Huskies seem bound and determined to put their playoff ghosts in the past, and Ethan got them off to a dominant start with impressive throws and electric runs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1041542' first='Ty' last='Sigler'] - Community School of Davidson - 12-17 198 Passing Yards, 5 Passing Touchdowns

Clee Phillips - Stuart Cramer - 139 Passing Yards, Plus 172 Rushing Yards on 14 Carries with 4 Rushing Touchdowns - Clee is a dual-threat quarterback who doesn't get a ton of attention, but he led a masterful performance against a very strong Bandys team on the offensive side of the ball. Clee's decision-making in both the run and pass game was very impressive, and the Storm continues to have the best season in school history. They are heading into a third-round game at Hibriten that feels like a toss-up this Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1453997' first='Brady' last='Swett'] - Bandys - 23-32 for 361 Passing Yards and 5 Passing Touchdowns

[player_tooltip player_id='1909824' first='Jaylen' last='Glover'] - Lake Norman - 12 Tackles and 4 Pass Breakups - Excellent Pass Coverage! - In facing a talented passing attack from East Forsyth, Lake Norman brought some strong defense with them, led by Jaylen's work from his secondary spot. He's got good size and played some excellent coverage with his multiple pass breakups. I thought he also tackled very well in space, and that will be needed for a tough Round 3 game at Weddington this Friday.

Elliot Newcomb - Charlotte Christian - 20-25 for 287 Passing Yards and 5 Passing Touchdowns - Elliot had a stellar performance on the road at Rabun Gap to help get the Knights into the state championship game this Friday. I think Elliot gets overshadowed a bit in Charlotte, but quietly, he has put together a strong senior year from his quarterback spot, and I think it's enough for some colleges to look at considering him for their respective programs.

[player_tooltip player_id='861458' first='Aiden' last='Black'] - Jay M Robinson - 6 Tackles, 2 Tackles For Loss, 2 Sacks - Aiden had a dominant performance this past Friday Night from his defensive line position. On both of his sacks, Aiden showed impressive strength at the point of attack. His get-off from the line of scrimmage was impressive, and I liked the way he used his hands to disengage and shed from offensive linemen.

[player_tooltip player_id='832280' first='Brody' last='Keefe'] - Myers Park - 4 Receptions, 107 Receiving Yards, 2 Receiving Touchdowns

[player_tooltip player_id='1122961' first='Shannon' last='Wingate Jr'] - Maiden - 22 Carries, 294 Rushing Yards, 3 Rushing Touchdowns - Shannon had an absolutely dominant game here in carrying his Blue Devils into the third round against conference opponent Newton-Conover, who defeated them in double overtime in their meeting earlier this season. The speed/power combination Shannon ran with was impressive, and I'm excited to see what he does to continue to be the offensive focal point this Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1905611' first='Jonas' last='Woods'] - Shelby - 17 Carries, 220 Rushing Yards, 2 Rushing Touchdowns

Lorenzo Roseboro - Shelby - 4 Receptions, 126 Receiving Yards, 3 Receiving Touchdowns

DK Mitchell - Hibriten - 20 Carries, 118 Rushing Yards, 3 Rushing Touchdowns

[player_tooltip player_id='1895128' first='Kaden' last='Davis'] - Freedom - 2 Passing Touchdowns, 2 Rushing Touchdowns, 200 Yards Of Offense

[player_tooltip player_id='1895140' first='Cade' last='Keller'] - Watauga - 2 Passing Touchdowns, 2 Rushing Touchdowns, 279 Total Yards Of Offense

[player_tooltip player_id='1678635' first='Jalaythan' last='Mayfield'] - Lincolnton - 64 Rushing Yards, 2 Rushing Touchdowns, 10 Tackles, 2 Tackles For Loss
