It's October and that means we're updating all of our rankings across the classes. Two weeks ago, we released our first 2029 watchlist. In the last week, we've updated the 2028 rankings to now feature the top 75 sophomores in Oklahoma! And today, we're continuing our 2028 prospect breakdowns with a look at seven 2028 prospects at the WR and OL positions who have stood out in one way or another so far this season. We featured another 2028 prospect earlier this week in our Top Newcomer article as well as two others in our Top Stock Risers article. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more 2028 prospect breakdowns and every week for a new class ranking update!

Stillwater wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1214367' first='David' last='Thomas'] has been considered one of the state's best 2028 prospects, regardless of position since middle school. The Stillwater sophomore is on a tear right now from a production standpoint. He's going to have a chance to lead the team in all three receiving categories this season. The offers have started to roll in for Thomas and they probably won't slow down when his film makes the rounds and he starts going to various camps in the offseason. Simply put, Thomas is an outstanding talent at the wide receiver position and he's shown the ability to beat defenses in a variety of ways. He can make incredibly hard catches in traffic look like second nature to him and he's just scratching the surface on what he'll be.

McAlester wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1689507' first='Rodney' last='Washington'] is a 2028 prospect we've bought stock on very early in his career. He doesn't have some of the production that the other 2028 wide receivers have but it's only a matter of time. Washington checks the boxes from a physical standpoint with his size. And this offseason, we watched countless clips of Washington dominating on the basketball floor, jumping through the gym. The athleticism in his game is off the charts good and it's only a matter of time before he absolutely explodes as a true football prospect. He's also considered one of the state's better basketball prospects in his class but we think his ceiling is considerably higher in football as he continues to work on his craft.

Edmond North's [player_tooltip player_id='1689505' first='Wyatt' last='Knol'] continues to impress us as a 2028 prospect with a very high ceiling. Knol has a big frame and a lot of room to put on more weight and muscle to become a dominant offensive lineman prospect. Right now, Knol has been impacting the game for the Huskies at left tackle. Knol has quick feet and there's some athleticism in his long frame. It wouldn't be surprising if Knol continues to rise up the 2028 ranks by the time it's all said and done. Looking at some of his early season film, we were impressed with his ability to lock onto a defender and take him where he wants him to go. The athleticism along with the size will make him an intriguing prospect moving forward.

Mangum has been one of the more dominant small school teams throughout the 2025 football season. The offense has been lighting up the scoreboard but it starts up front on the line of scrimmage. Offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1054230' first='Aiden' last='Augustine'] has been a 2028 prospect that we've liked since he was in middle school. At that time, he was undersized but the skillset was there and really impressed us in person and on film. The last time we watched Augustine in person, he wasn't as undersized anymore and as he continues to develop physically, he's going to be a very fun prospect to watch. We'll be checking out Augustine and the rest of this Mangum squad in week nine for their big district clash with Thomas.

Booker T Washington offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1522526' first='Philip' last='Loadholt III'] has been starting for the Hornets at the center position since last season. We've said it before but we'll say it again here, freshmen don't typically start at programs like Booker T Washington and when a freshman does start, it gets everyone's attention right away. Taking a look at some of Loadholt's film from the first month and a half of the season, the thing that jumps out to us immediately is his get off. He gets the snap to the quarterback and it's like he has springs in his legs because he explodes out of his stance. It will be very interesting to see how Loadholt continues to develop physically but he's firmly established himself as a 2028 name to know.

Broken Bow is not lacking skill talent this season and sophomore wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1599208' first='Dejhaun' last='Hall'] is one of those names to remember moving forward. Hall had a breakout season last year for the Savages, finishing with over 600 yards and five touchdowns. As we publish this, Hall has played seven games and is about to exceed his numbers from 2024. Hall is a wide receiver that is getting better and better every time he steps on the field. Broken Bow has gotten creative this season with how they use Hall in the offense. He's lined up on the outside and in the slot. No matter where he's lined up, he's able to beat his man and make a play. The Savages have one of the top offenses in 4A and Hall is a key part of that.

Our final 2028 prospect is Metro Christian wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1705459' first='Finn' last='Kouplen'] and he is a very fun prospect to watch on the offensive side of the ball. Kouplen is a precise route runner with excellent hands and he is incredibly tough to bring down in the open field. Kouplen plays the game with a lot of strength and he's bouncing off would-be tacklers and continuing to pick up extra yardage. Metro Christian is not shy about what they do on the offensive side of the ball. They can sling it all over the field and they make it a point to get their receivers in space and let them make plays. Kouplen is the perfect player for that system and he's made quite a few plays this season. As we post this, the Patriots are undefeated this season.
