Get 25% Off Your Subscription By Entering Knight25 In The Coupon Code Area. We have another great slate this week but it comes with some weather. There are quite a few games that were originally scheduled for Friday that will now kick off on Thursday night. Check with your school for the official kickoff time. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma every day this week to get ready for week eight!

#3 ADA (7-0) AT #5 BROKEN BOW (6-1)

Our first game could end up being the game of the week because there is going to be plenty of firepower on the field in this one. #3 Ada travels to face #5 Broken Bow and for the Cougars, it's an opportunity to remain undefeated and take one more step towards another district championship. The Cougars have been lighting up the scoreboard this season and the impressive thing about this offense is how balanced they've been. They have one of the top quarterbacks in Class 4A and one of the top running backs in 4A football. Broken Bow will counter with arguably the most electric football player in the state running their offense. And the Savages are going to come into this contest with their backs against the wall. They've already dropped a tough district game to Sallisaw and can't afford another district loss. A win over Ada will put them right back in the mix for that district championship.

#10 ALTUS (7-0) AT #4 GUTHRIE (6-1)

One of the top games in Class 5A will see #4 Guthrie hosting #10 Altus this week. The Blue Jays have won six straight games after losing their season opener to Tuttle. And when you look at the schedule, the Blue Jays have been absolutely dominant. The defense has been playing lights out but they're going to be facing an Altus squad that can light up the scoreboard. And for the Bulldogs, it's the ultimate measuring stick game for them. They are undefeated coming into this week but they haven't faced a challenge quite like the one they are going to be facing this week. Altus has perhaps the runaway winner for Freshman Of The Year but again, he's facing the toughest defense he's faced this season. The winner here stays in the hunt for the district championship while the loser is going to be playing with their backs against the wall in the next two weeks to close out the regular season.

#1 BIXBY (7-0) AT #5 MUSTANG (5-2)

It's the marquee game in Class 6A-1 this week as top-ranked Bixby heads west to face #5 Mustang and there is no doubt that this match-up does not lack star power. The number of D1 commits and prospects with D1 offers is easily in the double digits. The Spartans are the measuring stick when it comes to high school football in Oklahoma right now and they will look to flex their muscle again this week. The Spartans are undefeated and they've scored at least 50 points in every game except the season opener, when they scored 49. They are also coming off a 92-0 win over Enid last week. For Mustang, the Broncos are looking to show that they belong among the elite in Oklahoma and this is the game to do it. We called Bixby the measuring stick so Mustang is going to know exactly where they are at the end of 48 minutes against the Spartans. Mustang has been knocking on the door and now they want to kick it down.

#8 COLLINSVILLE (6-1) AT #3 PRYOR (7-0)

All signs are pointing to a potential Del City-Pryor showdown in week ten for the district championship. Collinsville can throw a massive wrench into those plans by going on the road and taking down the Tigers. #3 Pryor is undefeated and they have certainly lived up to all the preseason hype we lofted their way. They have an offense that has yet to be contained and a team full of experienced players ready to lead Pryor on their deepest playoff run in school history. But Collinsville is not a team to overlook as the only loss came on the road, on a last second field goal, to Del City. The Cardinals will give Pryor everything they want and then some this week. The Cardinals have a great blend of experienced talent and young stars that are growing up in a hurry. But it should be mentioned, the two seed in this district might be beneficial as you could avoid top-ranked Carl Albert on your side of the bracket.

#6 LAWTON MACARTHUR (6-1) AT #7 NEWCASTLE (5-2)

The trio of Bishop McGuinness, Lawton MacArthur and Newcastle are all 3-0 in district play and now they start to square off to decide the district championship. #6 Lawton MacArthur comes up to Newcastle to face the Racers in a pivotal game in this district. The Highlanders have been rolling since they lost to defending 4A champion Elgin in the season opener. They've been beating defenses in a variety of ways with a strong passing game and a devastating rushing attack. But this week's clash with Newcastle will present some tougher challenges. The Racers have also been playing outstanding football since a few setbacks to 4A powers Elgin and Tuttle. And just like the Highlanders, Newcastle has a devastating rushing attack with arguably the most experienced running back in Class 5A this season. The winner will have a huge advantage in the district race while the loser will have work to do.

#3 PUTNAM CITY (6-1) AT #1 STILLWATER (6-1)

Top-ranked Stillwater goes from a showdown with defending champion Choctaw to a head to head clash with #3 Putnam City that will all but certainly decide the district championship. Both teams have taken care of business in district play and both teams have knocked off the defending champs from Choctaw. Stillwater can beat teams in a variety of ways and they will always take pride in their aggressive defense. Putnam City looks like a true state championship contender. They have playmakers everywhere and this game will feature quite a few players that will be playing at the next level and playing at a high level. Putnam City has arguably the most experienced quarterback in the state and that could provide a difference. The match-up to watch here is Stillwater's rushing attack and offensive line going against a very talented Putnam City front seven. Whoever wins that match-up will more than likely win the game.

#7 MOUNT ST. MARY (6-1) AT #2 JONES (7-0)

This looks like the game of the week in Class 2A-1 as #2 Jones will square off with #7 Mount St. Mary this week. The Longhorns have looked like an absolute powerhouse this season. They've been routinely one of the best teams in this class but it's been a class that's been dominated by Washington. The Longhorns look like they have what it takes to challenge the Warriors for 2A-1 supremacy this season. First, they have to take care of business against the Rockets. And for Mount St. Mary, it's bounce back time after they stumbled for the first time this season last week against Millwood. Despite the loss, this has been without a doubt the best season for Mount St. Mary in recent memory. And if they can pull off the upset on the road, they will be in a great position moving forward and they'll send a few shockwaves throughout the state. The Longhorns come into this week as the favorites.

#6 PIEDMONT (5-2) AT #5 SOUTHMOORE (5-2)

All eyes will be on that Putnam City-Stillwater showdown but don't overlook this match-up as #5 Southmoore will host #6 Piedmont. Both teams come into this week at 5-2 and we could see either of these teams (or both) becoming massive spoilers in the Class 6A-2 playoff picture. All of the talk in 6A-2 has surrounded the top four teams but these two teams won't back down from that challenge. Southmoore has looked great under first year head coach Brett Jones and they have some legitimate stars on their roster. Piedmont continues to rotate new playmakers into the fold and it seems like we're learning about a new standout every week. The depth that Piedmont has is definitely something to take note of. On the other side, you have a Southmoore squad that is taking the steps to return to being that team that could make a deep run in the playoffs. This is a big match-up for playoff seeding purposes.

#4 SALLISAW (6-1) AT #6 POTEAU (6-1)

The other Class 4A showdown is in the same district as #4 Sallisaw goes on the road to face #6 Poteau this week. The Black Diamonds are looking to remain unbeaten in district play and they've won six straight since a week zero loss to Pryor. Sallisaw has been playing great football and they are in the same boat that we mentioned with Ada. Continue to win and you control your own destiny and all eyes will be on that week ten showdown with Ada in week ten. For the Pirates, they've been a great story this season under their first year head coach. Poteau is looking completely different as they transitioned away from an old school offense to more of a spread attack. And the thing that is very impressive to us is this is a relatively young Poteau team in some spots. They have the potential to be really good moving forward and they are just scratching the surface on what they'll be in the future.

#2 SAND SPRINGS (5-2) AT #7 MUSKOGEE (4-3)

Yet another top ten showdown in Class 6A-2 and all signs point towards this game being another that will end up deciding the district championship. Although Sapulpa could have something to say about that. #2 Sand Springs goes on the road to face #7 Muskogee and both teams come in with 4-0 records in district play. The Roughers have completely turned things around following their 0-3 start. This is a team and a program that expects to not only capture the district title but they expect to contend for the state championship. On the other side of the match-up, you have a Sand Springs program that has been pushing Muskogee over the last few years. The Sandites are ready to take that next step and the Roughers are a team that has been the thorn in their side. The Sandites have won five straight following an 0-2 start. Both teams expect to win this one and the winner will be in a great spot.
