They put up a lot of points and keep their wide receivers involved from start to finish. Kouplen might still be flying under the radar right now but we think it’s only a matter of time before he has his breakout moment. We caught Kouplen in person once last season and he was equally as impactful on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. When it comes to Kouplen on defense, it should be mentioned that he’s an incredibly physical player.

Kouplen is a precise route runner with excellent hands and he is incredibly tough to bring down in the open field. Kouplen plays the game with a lot of strength and he’s bouncing off would-be tacklers and continuing to pick up extra yardage. Metro Christian is not shy about what they do on the offensive side of the ball. They can sling it all over the field and they make it a point to get their receivers in space and let them make plays. Kouplen is the perfect player for that system and he’s made quite a few plays this season. As we post this, the Patriots are undefeated this season.

We’re very excited to see what kind of leap Kouplen makes from his freshman to sophomore seasons. He was labeled by the Metro Christian coaches as a playmaker and you throw on the film and you see just that. He looked just as comfortable lining up in the slot and making plays as a wide receiver as he did lining up in the backfield and breaking off a long run. Playmaker is the correct word.
