[player_tooltip player_id='670654' first='Aivan' last='Locklin'] - Senior Quarterback - Lawton MacArthur

Lawton MacArthur came from behind to stun Ponca City in overtime Friday night. Leading the way was senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='670654' first='Aivan' last='Locklin'] and he was unstoppable on offense. Locklin has had some massive games throwing the ball but this was one where he did more of his damage on the ground. He threw for over 100 yards on 10-20 passing but he also ran the ball for just shy of 200 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. We don't know every game Locklin has played but we assume the rushing numbers were among the best in his career with the Highlanders and he helped get the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='805100' first='Ben' last='Daniels'] - Senior Wide Receiver - Collinsville

The Collinsville Cardinals are 3-0 after beating up on Bartlesville and we could have picked several players from the big win to feature here. We're going with senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='805100' first='Ben' last='Daniels'] as he had a terrific performance to lead the Collinsville passing attack. He was on the other end for seven catches and over 150 yards and three touchdowns. Daniels has been such an underrated part of this Collinsville offense over the last few seasons. But he's already proven he can be the top target at receiver but he's also a playmaker on defense and they'll need it when they travel to Del City in week four.

[player_tooltip player_id='1836844' first='Cale' last='McPeek'] - Senior Running Back - Pawnee

Pawnee stunned Hominy in the final seconds to get a 38-34 victory on Friday night. Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1836844' first='Cale' last='McPeek'] is no stranger to this breakdown as he's had a terrific start to his senior season. He has to be near the top of the rushing yards list through the first few weeks but it was his arm that made the biggest difference. McPeek threw a 21-yard touchdown with under ten seconds left in the game to give Pawnee the lead and ultimately the win. He was still dominant on the ground, finishing the game with just under 200 yards in the big week three win over Hominy.

[player_tooltip player_id='1830748' first='Cecil' last='Garrett'] - Senior Running Back - Claremore

Watch out for the Claremore Zebras in Class 3A as they are now 3-0 following a comeback win over Hilldale Friday night. The Zebras were once again carried by their senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1830748' first='Cecil' last='Garrett'] who is no stranger to this weekly feature. Garrett had another terrific performance on the ground, finishing the night with 224 yards and two touchdowns on an eye-opening 30 carries. Looking at those numbers and the result, it's clear that Claremore (literally) put the ball in his hands and had him carry the team to the win. The Zebras are yet another team to look out for in a very deep Class 5A.

[player_tooltip player_id='595759' first='Crew' last='Noles'] - Senior Athlete - Norman

Norman is 3-0 following a 30-point victory over Piedmont Friday night. Senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='595759' first='Crew' last='Noles'] has gotten off to a terrific start this season and he definitely falls under the "Swiss army knife" category as an overall playmaker. Noles finished with five catches for over 150 yards and a touchdown. He also had a rushing touchdown. Through his first three games this season, Noles has had a critical part in so many different areas and the thing that is impressive is he's able to produce just about everywhere on the field. Noles is off to a good start and the Tigers are as well heading into district play.

[player_tooltip player_id='1670662' first='Dane' last='Jensen'] - Junior Linebacker - Pawhuska

We wrote about Pawhuska's two-headed monster at linebacker on Saturday and we honestly flipped a coin to figure out who would be here. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1670662' first='Dane' last='Jensen'] was the beneficiary of that over [player_tooltip player_id='1325101' first='Vann' last='Wildcat'] this week. Jensen impacted the game in all three phases as the Huskies rolled to an easy win over defending A-2 champion Woodland. Jensen was at his best on defense as he absolutely terrorized the Woodland quarterback. It was an impressive performance to watch in person and once again on film afterwards. Jensen is a big part of Pawhuska's 4-0 start to the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1324250' first='Dax' last='Owens'] - Junior Quarterback - Davis

The Davis Wolves survived overtime but beat Plainview on Friday night. Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1324250' first='Dax' last='Owens'] did a ton of damage on the ground and through the air. Owens threw for over 150 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for well over 150 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Davis scored second in overtime and it was Owens who threw the game-winning two-point conversion and the defending 2A-2 champs have bounced back as they now shift their focus to district play. Overall, it was another terrific performance from Owens, who is clearly one of the best players in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='693905' first='Delijah' last='Matthews'] - Junior Running Back - Carl Albert

Carl Albert knocked off Stillwater to win their 42nd consecutive game on Friday night. And for the third straight week, junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='693905' first='Delijah' last='Matthews'] finds himself on this breakdown. Three games in, and Matthews is very clearly one of the better running backs in the state. In the win over Stillwater, he finished with well over 100 yards on the ground and a touchdown. He also had two receiving touchdowns. We talked and wrote quite a bit about Matthews last week and it's very clear that he's living up to the hype and then some. Matthews has made quite the statement early on this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1539927' first='Donavin' last='Garfield'] - Senior Athlete - Seminole

Seminole is off to a 3-0 start and senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1539927' first='Donavin' last='Garfield'] has had an unreal start to his senior campaign. Coming into this season, we knew that Garfield had the ability to be a complete playmaker that could take over games. Friday night's win over Harrah was another example of that. Garfield threw for just under 300 yards on 17-21 passing. He also had nearly 150 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground as he carried the ball nearly 20 times. And it wasn't just a defensive performance. Garfield also had an interception on the defensive side of the ball. He's put up some monster numbers in this 3-0 start.

[player_tooltip player_id='449993' first='Easton' last='Webb'] - Senior Quarterback - Sand Springs

After the gauntlet start of the season, facing Bixby and Owasso, Sand Springs took care of Bishop Kelley with a 35-0 win. The Sandites were led by their start quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='449993' first='Easton' last='Webb'] and he had this offense humming and was incredibly efficient. Webb threw for well over 200 yards and a touchdown on 20-26 passing. He also added nearly 50 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground. It was a terrific performance from Webb, who has a strong case for being the best quarterback in Oklahoma this season. Now, Webb and the Sandites shift their focus to district play, where they'll be the favorites to win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1689435' first='Gage' last='Chance'] - Junior Quarterback - Bishop McGuinness

Bishop McGuinness went up to Kansas and rolled to a 38-13 win over Bishop Lynch on Friday night. Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1689435' first='Gage' last='Chance'] had a terrific performance as a dual-threat quarterback in the win. Chance threw for just over 250 yards and three touchdowns and he also added a touchdown on the ground. The Irish have jumped out to a 4-0 start and look like a team that could contend for the district crown and more this season. Chance is a QB that more people should look at this fall. It should also be noted that McGuinness is in the middle of a stretch where they are playing four straight road games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1831664' first='Graham' last='Donaldson'] - Junior Quarterback - Mustang

With Mustang missing their star quarterback for the second straight game, junior signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='1831664' first='Graham' last='Donaldson'] had to step up and he did just that. Following a tough loss to Broken Arrow, Donaldson and the Bronco offense absolutely dominated on Friday night and the junior signal caller was nearly perfect. He threw for 279 yards and five touchdowns on 18-21 passing. Mustang is definitely going to be in the mix in the 6A-1 title chase and knowing that they have depth at the quarterback position is going to be a big plus. The Broncos and Donaldson now shift their focus to district play.

[player_tooltip player_id='1572513' first='Kale' last='Brakefield'] - Senior Quarterback - Sulphur

After two very emotional games and ultimately wins for Sulphur, the Bulldogs took down Cache in week three. This week, senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1572513' first='Kale' last='Brakefield'] was the star of the game as he did a ton of damage in a short amount of time. Brakefield threw for well over 300 yards and four touchdowns on only 10-13 passing. He was also done on the offensive side of the ball by halftime as the Bulldogs rolled to the win. Now, Sulphur has another massive match-up coming up in week four. They open up district play at home against Perkins-Tryon and it'll be two top five teams in 3A facing off.

[player_tooltip player_id='1716122' first='Kasen' last='Blair'] - Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Kingfisher

Kingfisher rolled to a 45-12 victory over Bridge Creek on Friday night to improve to 2-1 on the season. Senior wide receiver and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1716122' first='Kasen' last='Blair'] had a big night as Kingfisher put the game away early on. Blair finished the night with 100 yards and a touchdown on five catches. He also had an interception that he returned for a touchdown on defense. All of this was done in the first half as the Yellowjackets jumped out early and often on Bridge Creek and Blair, along with the rest of the Kingfisher starters weren't needed in the second half. Following an early loss, they've now won two straight.

[player_tooltip player_id='1522514' first='Nash' last='Henry'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Norman North

Norman North rolled to a big win over Moore and sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1522514' first='Nash' last='Henry'] might have had his breakout moment. Henry was a quarterback that we circled before the season as he has been waiting to have that breakout moment as QB1 of the Timberwolves. It probably happened Friday as he threw for over 400 yards and four touchdowns on 23-30 passing. We've talked about Henry and how he might be the next in line among this long list of terrific quarterback prospects. He's just a sophomore and there's plenty of room to grow but that was a terrific performance in his young career.

[player_tooltip player_id='1830444' first='Nathan' last='Gonzalez'] - Senior Wide Receiver - Bixby

Bixby dominated Choctaw 57-7 in the match-up of defending champions. Senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1830444' first='Nathan' last='Gonzalez'] set the tone for how Friday night was going to go right from the opening kick. Gonzalez took the opening kick all the way back for a touchdown. He also led the Spartans in receiving, adding four catches for just under 100 yards and two touchdowns. Gonzalez is one part of a loaded Bixby receiver group and it was his night to shine in the win over Choctaw. After watching him for the last 12 months, he's also one of Bixby's most reliable receivers and the Spartans have used him quite a bit.

[player_tooltip player_id='916843' first='Remington' last='Laughlin'] - Junior Quarterback - Mangum

Mangum won big yet again and the Tigers once again had multiple players that could be featured here. For the second time this season, we're giving the nod to junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='916843' first='Remington' last='Laughlin'] as he dominated Friday night. Laughlin threw for nearly 300 yards and three touchdowns on 16-19 passing. He also added two touchdowns on the ground in the win. Laughlin has battled through adversity with injuries during his career. But it's clear that when he is healthy, the Tigers are going to be a serious team to watch in Class A-2 this season. Mangum has been dominant through the first three weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='472321' first='Ritson' last='Meyer'] - Senior Running Back/Linebacker - Elgin

As long as Elgin keeps winning games, you can make a very strong argument that senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='472321' first='Ritson' last='Meyer'] should be on this breakdown. In our opinion, Meyer is one of the best overall players in the state and Friday's win over Newcastle is just another game that backs up that statement. On offense, Meyer ran for 178 yards and four touchdowns on 26 carries. And while his offensive numbers get a lot of the headlines, and rightfully so, he also plays defense. At linebacker, Meyer finished the night with two forced fumbles and came up with an interception in the runaway win over the Racers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1830199' first='Teagan' last='Lawson'] - Junior Quarterback - Heritage Hall

It was a long two weeks for Heritage Hall following a week one loss to Lincoln Christian. They didn't waste time, jumping out early and often on Millwood Friday night. Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1830199' first='Teagan' last='Lawson'] had a big night as he got his first start, filling in for an injured QB1. Lawson had a terrific performance. He threw for nearly 200 yards and three touchdowns on 15-17 passing. He also added a touchdown on the ground. For a first start against a team in Millwood that has made three straight state title games, Lawson took full advantage of his opportunity and led the early onslaught.

[player_tooltip player_id='1161913' first='Wyatt' last='Atkinson'] - Senior Running Back/Defensive Back - Perkins-Tryon

Perkins-Tryon bounced back from a tough rivalry loss by beating down Webster on Thursday night. The Demons rolled to a 70-18 victory and senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1161913' first='Wyatt' last='Atkinson'] was able to do just about whatever he wanted. On the ground, Atkinson scored three touchdowns, including a long score on the second play of the game. He also had an interception that he returned for a score and a kick return that he brought back for his fifth touchdown on the night. Perkins-Tryon will need that kind of performance as they go on the road to face district favorite Sulphur in week four.
