Brian Stovall has the upside to make him a top contender this season. While not quite polished yet, he has the strength and side to overwhelm offensive linemen. The makings are all there for an incredible 2025. He has long arms to keep blockers out of his chest and has a decent first step. If he takes another jump this year, he will be a top pass rusher in the state.

I really love the potential boom that Edgeworth has. Ideal size, strength and ability to beat blockers 1-on-1. The Grand Valley State commit has good use of his hands and a pretty good first step for his size. He has sharpened his skill against some superb competition in one of the toughest conferences in the state. His production is a testament to how hard he works and his overall talent. Be on the lookout for some big numbers for Dylan in 2025!

I love the explosiveness that Summers brings to the table. His abrupt first step and explosion of power out of his stance is pretty much unparalleled in this class. Another Cass Tech product, Summers is very well coached and gets to practice against the best of the best day in and day out. He currently holds our #1 DL/EDGE spot in our 2026 class, and I wouldn't be stunned to see him end 2025 as the Sack King of Michigan.

The Buffalo commit has a shot of stunning a lot of people who don't pay attention to Oak Park. Reed is a flat out beast with an incredible motor. He creates complete havoc in the middle of the offensive line, and has the ability to win rep after rep against a variety of offensive linemen. Camp after camp this offseason, Reed impressed. He developed and sharpened some legitimate moves that he can rely on, so I would be shocked if he isn't a sack a game player, if not more.

[player_tooltip player_id='212359' first='Isaiah' last='Harris'] is one of the best defensive players in the state, no question. The motor, the strength, the speed and the variety of pass rush moves makes Harris an absolute nightmare to try and stop. He utilizes his quick first step and great use of hands to beat offensive linemen off the snap. He can hit them with finesse and speed, or he can shed blocks and bull rush when needed. There is no question Harris is a D1 caliber player, and I know he would love to put the exclamation mark on a tremendous career at Saline with the Sack King title.

Another Grand Valley State commit makes the list. [player_tooltip player_id='1148714' first='Miles' last='Sharp'] incredibly high upside heading into 2025. He's more athletic than your average defensive tackle, and he has an incredibly ability to slip inside and get into the backfield. He gets a good jump off the line, and is strong enough to use his hands and get leverage on offensive linemen. I think with another year of work under his belt, he is a sleeper for being one of the most disruptive defensive players in the state of Michigan.

Another sleeper pick that makes his living creating havoc for offenses. Fernandez had an extremely productive season at Cass Tech in 2024, ending in a state championship ring. With John Baker now moving on to Toldeo, Fernandez will assume an even bigger role and will be the true anchor of the defensive line unit. He is strong, he's relentless and will have ample opportunities to make his presence felt in backfields all season long.

The D1 hype is here for [player_tooltip player_id='1649092' first='Asher' last='Newman'], and a quick look at his highlights will tell you exactly why. He had a great 2024 season, and may only be scratching the surface of his potential. He has great size at 6'4 234, and his mix of speed and power is going to be a problem for a number of offenses in 2025. He has strong legs that allows him to anchor down when offenses try to kick him out, and on 3rd and long, Newman is able to pin his ears back and win reps in a number of ways to get sacks. Newman will be a force for the next couple of seasons at Haslett.

[player_tooltip player_id='1264786' first='Recarder' last='Kitchen'] may honestly be the favorite to be the Sack King of Michigan this fall. He's lanky, strong and has some technical aspects to his game. He is currently #1 at his position and #10 overall in the class of ‘27. I love the variety out of Kitchen from rep to rep. Whether it be a speed move, a push and pull, or using strength, he knows how to maximize his impact on every play. His ceiling is high and I expect some spectacular performances this fall.

We currently have Issa slotted #2 at his position, and with his strength, speed and size, he could jump up to #1 before it's all said and done. Issa has a really well rounded game. He gets off the ball well, can consistently win reps in a variety of ways, and has an extremely high motor. He has no problem playing physical, and has shown that he is a very good tackler. The Saline defense should be as stout as they come, and I would bet Issa has a plethora of opportunities to make life hard for opposing quarterbacks all season long.
