About Brian
Expert Analysis
Tyler Graham | Prep Redzone Scout
Brian Stovall has the upside to make him a top contender this season. While not quite polished yet, he has the strength and side to overwhelm offensive linemen. The makings are all there for an incredible 2025. He has long arms to keep blockers out of his chest and has a decent first step. If he takes another jump this year, he will be a top pass rusher in the state.

Strengths
- Size
- Competition
- Explosiveness
- Good at setting the edge
Weaknesses
- Raw all-around player
- Lacks physicality
- Lacks play speed
- Lacks proper hand usage or dominance like you’d expect from a Division 1 prospect
I frankly do not like Brain’s tape. His biggest strengths lie in his size. Some good plays, but most of his best plays are setting the edge and going in on a gang tackle. Struggles to effectively use hands. Doesn’t shed blocks. Did not stand out across from Hudsonville players who were the same size with zero offers. An offseason workout could possibly shift my opinion, but speaking on one game and his highlight tape, I believe he’s a high-upside GLIAC prospect. Hope I can see more from Brain soon, and I’ll be sure to watch at least one full Cass Tech game on NFHS Network to further evaluate him.

Brain already has several D1 offers and sports a high ceiling as a dual-sport athlete. In college, Brian projects as an on or off-ball outside linebacker. Last season, Brian played a multitude of positions. Offensively, Brain was primarily utilized as an H-Back. There, Brian was a safety valve in the passing game and a physical blocker in the run game. He played his part, and he executed it well. Defensively, Brian mostly played on-ball. As an EDGE rusher, Brian displayed an impressive getoff in addition to a good variety of rush moves, mostly with power. I’ll be honest and say that Brian is still a bit raw on the defensive side of the ball, but I believe in Cass Tech like no other to develop Brian.
