Darrius Summers
About Darrius
Expert Analysis
Alex Pallone | Prep Redzone Scout
Summers is going to be critical in applying pressure, both in the run and pass game. Detroit MLK has done an incredible job running the football so far this season. Give their RB an inch, and he’s gone. Gap discipline is going to be big for Darrius. Likewise, applying pressure to the QB needs to be a priority.

I love the explosiveness that Summers brings to the table. His abrupt first step and explosion of power out of his stance is pretty much unparalleled in this class. Another Cass Tech product, Summers is very well coached and gets to practice against the best of the best day in and day out. He currently holds our #1 DL/EDGE spot in our 2026 class, and I wouldn’t be stunned to see him end 2025 as the Sack King of Michigan.

- Really good tape against really good competition
- Motor, size, bend of a D1 prospect
- Able to play the option; has the explosiveness to play both reads
- Could realistically play anywhere on the Front 7 in college
- I expect Darrius to play EDGE or off-ball OLB in college
- NIU came into Michigan and got a steal

Has the size, athleticism, and physicality to be a great player at the next level. Darius doesn’t have a ton of tape from this season, but what he does have shows excellent, violent hands in each and every play. In addition, I see a great getoff and a wide tackle radius.
Every Cass Tech D-Lineman I watch is exceptionally well-rounded. It’s the same with Darius.
