Get 25% Off Your Subscription By Entering Knight25 In The Coupon Code Area. Enjoy!

Week nine is in the books and following the games, we always take a look at some of the top performers from each week in high school football across the state. From big time performances in big games to clutch performances and stat sheet-stuffing performances, we have them all! Following games each week, you can submit your picks for top performers by tweeting at us @PrepRedzoneOK or emailing Michael@PrepRedzone.com. This week, we're putting the spotlight on nearly 20 different players across the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1096805' first='Athan' last='Nickles'] - Senior Linebacker - Stillwater

Stillwater locked up second place in the district with a 49-7 win at home over Piedmont on Thursday night. The Pioneer defense did a great job of limiting the Piedmont rushing attack and they were led by senior [player_tooltip player_id='1096805' first='Athan' last='Nickles'] at the linebacker position. He's consistently been one of Stillwater's top tacklers for two seasons now and he led the Pioneers with 16 tackles and six of those came behind the line of scrimmage. They limited Piedmont's big plays and the drives that chew up clock. Nickles and the Pioneer defense are playing at a very high level with just one more game to go before we go into the playoffs and they look to make a return trip to Edmond.

[player_tooltip player_id='434307' first='Barrett' last='Travis'] - Senior Running Back - Heritage Hall

Heritage Hall continued to dominate in district play and the offense came alive as the Chargers beat Purcell 56-41. They would have several players that definitely shined bright in the win but senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='434307' first='Barrett' last='Travis'] had another stellar performance. This week, Travis would finish with around 300 yards and five touchdowns on 11 carries. This continues to be a season where Travis has emerged as one of the more consistent running backs in Class 3A. And when you think about just that statement, it's definitely a major positive because Class 3A has quite a few standouts at the running back position and Travis is in the discussion.

[player_tooltip player_id='382955' first='Brady' last='Scott'] - Junior Wide Receiver - Hilldale

Hilldale took another step towards punching their ticket to the playoffs when they got a massive win over Poteau. The Hornets had been knocking on the door over the last several seasons but Poteau continued to be the thorn in their side. They won decisively with a 35-14 victory over the Pirates and junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='382955' first='Brady' last='Scott'] had another complete performance. Offensively, he continues to be absolutely electric with the football in his hands. He caught two touchdowns and also ran for his third touchdown of the night. Defensively, he came up with an interception and you can't forget about the impact that Scott can have as a kick returner.

[player_tooltip player_id='467141' first='Brayden' last='Hardwick'] - Junior Wide Receiver - Pocola

Pocola continues to roll on the offensive side of the ball behind a passing attack that is one of the best in Oklahoma, regardless of class. They would beat Panama 30-20 and the Indians are starting to pick up a ton of momentum as we start barreling towards the first round of the playoffs. Junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='467141' first='Brayden' last='Hardwick'] had another big performance in the win on Friday night. He would finish with ten catches for 160 yards and a touchdown. He also had six tackles on the defensive side of the ball and has been productive as a defensive back. But when it comes to Hardwick this season, you can't help but really like the production he's had on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1326361' first='Caron' last='Richardson'] - Junior Running Back - Ada

Ada took care of business against Glenpool with a 56-30 victory on Friday night. That will set up a week ten showdown with Sallisaw for the district championship. The Cougars came into this season with high expectations but it's been a roller coaster of a season. However, they are one win away from a district championship. Junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1326361' first='Caron' last='Richardson'] led the way for the Cougars in their week nine victory over Glenpool. He would finish with nearly 250 yards and five touchdowns on just shy of 30 carries. Richardson turned into a workhorse running back for Ada and was ready to answer the call on Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='284114' first='Carson' last='Kirby'] - Junior Quarterback - Bixby

Bixby's offense continues to be one of the more efficient and balanced units in the state, regardless of class. On Friday night, they beat Deer Creek 48-10 and are inching closer to locking up the district championship. Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='284114' first='Carson' last='Kirby'] had a stellar night throwing the ball in the win. He would throw for well over 250 yards and four touchdowns on 19-27 passing. Kirby continues to be one of the top quarterbacks in the state's 2026 class and he's elevated his game tremendously this season. The Spartans are still the two-time defending state champions in Class 6A-1 and you can tell they are ratcheting up to defend that championship.

Dayton [player_tooltip player_id='1626574' first='Tate' last='McClendon'] - Junior Running Back - Prague

We just updated our 2026 prospect rankings and every time we do an update, it doesn't take very long to realize we screwed up and left someone off. Prague running back Dayton [player_tooltip player_id='1626574' first='Tate' last='McClendon'] is that guy this time around. McClendon has had a terrific junior season and has had several performances that are similar to the one he just had in week nine. The Red Devils rolled to a 48-0 win over Roland on Friday night and McClendon was unstoppable on the ground. He carried the ball just eight times and finished with over 260 yards and four touchdowns. He's definitely a junior running back that you should keep an eye on moving forward in that class.

[player_tooltip player_id='449993' first='Easton' last='Webb'] - Junior Quarterback - Sand Springs

Sand Springs would get back on the field and bounce back with a big win after losing at home to Muskogee. The Sandites were once again led by junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='449993' first='Easton' last='Webb'], who continues to be one of the top passers in the state. Sand Springs bounced back from the tough loss at home by beating Putnam City North 42-26. And for Webb, he would have another big performance in the passing game. He would throw for just over 430 yards and four touchdowns while completing 30 of his 41 passes. It was a great bounce back victory for the Sandites and now they look to close out the regular season with a rivalry victory over Sapulpa in week ten.

[player_tooltip player_id='1067472' first='Fisher' last='Lai'] - Sophomore Wide Receiver - Cascia Hall

Cascia Hall made quick work of Verdigris on Friday night, winning 49-6 and we are putting the emphasis on the word "quick" right there. Sophomore wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1067472' first='Fisher' last='Lai'] might not ever be able to duplicate the game that he had on Friday night. He would catch three touchdowns, returned a punt for a touchdown and he returned a kick for his fifth touchdown on the night. All five touchdowns came in the first quarter. It was a spectacular start to the game for Lai and the rest of the Commandos as they rolled to the dominant district victory. That sets up a week ten clash with Berryhill where the district championship will be on the line and both teams are playing at a high level.

[player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] - Senior Quarterback - Muskogee

Muskogee senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] continues to climb the state's career passing charts. He's securely in the top ten and recently went over 10,000 yards for his career. In a 57-7 win over Sapulpa, Ficklin couldn't be contained once again. He would throw for just shy of 350 yards and three touchdowns on 10-15 passing. It was another quick and efficient night for the senior quarterback and the rest of the Roughers as they locked up the district championship with the victory. Ficklin has the Roughers absolutely rolling right now at the right time as they look to defend their 6A-2 state championship. He's again showing why he's one of the best.

[player_tooltip player_id='530573' first='Kale' last='Charboneau'] - Senior Quarterback - Wagoner

One week after Wagoner lost one of their star seniors for the season, another one stepped up in a major way. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='530573' first='Kale' last='Charboneau'] continues to have a season to remember as he was nearly perfect in a 62-6 win over Skiatook. The senior only played in the first half and would throw for well over 350 yards and seven touchdowns on 14-15 passing. The fact that half of his completions were touchdown passes is the stat that we're focused on here. The Bulldogs are incredibly hungry to not only make it back to Edmond but capture another state championship. Charboneau has helped lead the Bulldogs to the last two title games and looks to do it again in the next month.

[player_tooltip player_id='284117' first='Mason' last='James'] & [player_tooltip player_id='595685' first='Owen' last='Eshelman'] - Norman North

Norman North came up short against top-ranked Owasso, losing 64-54 but they absolutely went down swinging. The 1-2 punch of senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='595685' first='Owen' last='Eshelman'] and junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='284117' first='Mason' last='James'] led to 50+ points and numbers that we haven't seen Owasso give up all season. Eshelman would throw for more than 300 yards and he also added over 200 yards on the ground. James would finish the night with double digit receptions for over 250 yards and five touchdowns. We couldn't put the spotlight on one without doing the same for the other so we're including both here. They're 2-7 but they've been playing really good football recently.

Ryder Muninger - Junior Quarterback - East Central

East Central's passing attack could not be contained as the Cardinals would beat up on Edison, winning 66-14. Junior quarterback Ryder Muninger had arguably the best passing performance of week nine across Oklahoma. He would throw for just over 500 yards and five touchdowns on 26-33 passing. It's been a breakout season for Muninger this season and the Cardinals have definitely turned things around and have been more competitive than the last several seasons. Muninger and the rest of the Cardinals look to close out the season on a bright note against Coweta and take some much needed momentum into the offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='188014' first='Shaker' last='Reisig'] - Senior Quarterback - Union

Union senior quarterback and Boston College commit [player_tooltip player_id='188014' first='Shaker' last='Reisig'] had a record-setting night in week eight. So we were very interested to see what he would do for an encore and he didn't disappoint. Reisig would throw for 375 yards and six touchdowns on 22-25 passing. The Union senior has thrown for nearly 900 yards and 14 touchdowns in the last two games alone and only has seven incompletions during this stretch. 14 touchdowns to 7 incompletions over the last two games is an insane stat but as we've said in the past. Reisig is arguably the most accurate passer in the state so we're not surprised. Reisig and the Redhawks now host Edmond Memorial on Thursday.

[player_tooltip player_id='211570' first='Tres' last='Lorah'] - Senior Quarterback - Elgin

Earlier this season, Elgin senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211570' first='Tres' last='Lorah'] set the school record for career touchdown passes. He's continued to add to that record but now has another one as the school's all time leading passer, hitting the passing yards mark on Friday night. Top-ranked Elgin would beat Clinton 42-7 and lock up the district championship in the process. Lorah would throw for nearly 300 yards and four touchdowns in the win. But more importantly, he's now the school's all time passing king and more importantly than that, the Owls are once again district champions. Now, they look to do something that no Elgin team has ever done and that's win a gold ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='806158' first='Trey' last='Bennett'] - Senior Quarterback - Woodland

Woodland remains unbeaten and unchallenged in Class A-2. The Cougars appear to be the heavy favorite to capture the state championship as they beat up on Ketchum 62-6 in week nine. Almost all of Woodland's games this season have been decided by halftime or at the very least, in the third quarter. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='806158' first='Trey' last='Bennett'] continues to have monster performances in these games where he's done by halftime in the majority of them. In the win over Ketchum, Bennett would throw for over 250 yards and three touchdowns on 7-10 passing. If Bennett played all four quarters each week, he'd have some of the best stats in the state this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='587295' first='Zaylun' last='Matlock'] - Junior Athlete - McLoud

McLoud is another team that came up short in week nine but there was no doubt that junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='587295' first='Zaylun' last='Matlock'] belonged on this breakdown after the performance that he had. It was probably the best game of his career and definitely his best game of the season. They came up short to Lone Grove but Matlock could not be contained. he would run for well over 300 yards and four touchdowns on 28 carries. He also caught three passes for 63 yards and a score. We wrote about Matlock earlier in the week as one of the better athletes in the state's 2026 class. He came out and backed up the hype with arguably the best game of his career.
